They do. And I'm a sucker for anything vaguely related to Neil Gaiman so will find this hard to resist.

Amen!

Still listening and still debating ParaNorman but Coraline sounds amazing!
Anyone know why Coraline will be $32, and Paranorman will be $30 for? Those seem a bit high, and really keep me from being interested in picking them up. I mean my first guess is they’ll say the rights to the music is just more expensive…but that answer wouldn’t make me any more willing to buy those two. They’re not that interesting of soundtracks, and especially not for those prices!
I talked to someone at Mondo about that, Ghosty, and they said the packaging cost more for Coraline, so that was why. They did also confirm that these are both 2xLPs. Side note, I've streamed both if these scores and they are great. Paranorman is a ton of fun with a lot of hat tips to the kind of scores we all mark out for here and Coraline is just plain lovely. I was pleasantly surprised as I had no interest in either film.

I really like the Coraline score with its mix of nursery rhyme melody turing into orchestral score. And the art and packaging on its release looks great and fit the move great (especially with the button motif on the inner sleeve and the label). Hope I can get hold of this on RSD in the UK. Fingers crossed.

BTW, been a crazy week for me - no chance to play it yet, but I received my Paranorman LP from the eBay seller mentioned a few posts back, what I received was the "randomly-inserted “Aggie Fights” Highlighter Yellow Vinyl, with Bone Haze". It looks unbelievable - will post a pic or two when I get a minute tomorrow. It cost me $39.99 with "free" Priority Mail shipping, which given the price direct from Mondo works out to pretty much the same.

@mateo - oh! I didn't realize at all that they are both 2xLP. Never mind then, that makes a lot more sense. I was thinking $32 for a single LP soundtrack from a US label would just be going too far, but a 2xLP makes it a fairly straightforward price.

Same here. That's why I reached out to them.

Haha. I'm with you there, Pitch. With few exceptions, I've only ever purchased doubles to get a variant. But now I, too, am done with that game. To be fair, I have purchased multiple copies of records purely for the sake of preserving a copy, but, as I said, not many. I did buy two copies of all the pre- Campfire Headphase BOC records back in the day. I knew I would wear out at least one copy in my lifetime.

Damn that variant Paranorman is gorgeous. And I really loved the film, so I may have to try and hunt one of these down.

I have the black vinyl import and it is close to an hr of music that really needed to be spread over 2 lps. Sure hope Mondo does this right and issues it as a double lp.

Has anyone in the UK received their Omen yet? Mine seems to be stuck in Chicago...

Simple, tim28212, my good sir. I asked them. Both of tomorrow's releases are 2xLP.

My Omen (sadly regular after a good run with Mondo-still a lovely package though)came 3-4 weeks ago. As usual, Customs expressed no interest :-)

I ordered my Omen from Rough Trade, no idea when it's expected though.

What do most in the UK do with Mondo? I've found ordering direct a massive pain so usually go to RT/Juno/Strange Vice et al.

I don't think I've had a single variant though, other than the Miyazaki one which were all coloured anyway.

Its is a pain to buy from Mondo when in UK and the only times I have received a variant is by buying direct. So if your not bothered with the colourways its best to wait. Or you could buy two copies direct which makes the postage nicer and stick the other one on discogs. Having said that, my second Omen hasnt sold on there despite being up for less than I paid!

Yeah I have to chuckle when I see "only opened to check variant" on descriptions. I have a chance that my Omen might be coloured but I think it unlikely.

I don't mind owning a black copy but must admit the last two before the Omen "looked" nice despite me having no idea what they were. I guess that's what they're aiming for.
