Morricone

These are really nice compilations. A shame they don’t mention from which scores the tracks are.

Joining @inksb on this one. First listen except for the one teaser track.
@deaf did you happen to order the black pressing of Zombie? I went with black and my copy is full of surface noise, I've cleaned it ultrasonically twice, spin cleaned it twice and it hasn't gone away, wondering if your pressing has it too or if I just got a bad copy.

@inks, my black vinyl copy sounds fine and I have not had problems with Cadabra wax. I would ask for a replacement.

Thanks, I've never had issues with any of my other Cadabra records but wanted to check and see if it was a pressing issue before I go asking for a replacement.

Vince Guaraldi "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown"

Score for the harrowing TV special about lovable loser/future incel Charlie Brown's never-ending humiliation in the eyes of his peers and, ultimately, before all of humanity. The show also touches on the death of God in modern life via Linus' rejection of the Santa myth in favor of an ancient pagan icon for the autumn holiday. This absence of a benevolent authority figure also plays into the story with the lack of parental care, culminating in Linus' parents not realizing or caring that he is sleeping in a pumpkin patch at 4 am.

This story of children running amok in a parentless, rudderless world was an obvious predecessor and influence on Jonathan Kaplan's 1979 coming-of-age film, "Over the Edge." To paraphrase this latter film's lead actor, Matt Dillon, "A kid who tells on another kid in a pumpkin patch is a blockhead."

Oh, and the vinyl is orange and is shaped like a pumpkin!

Yup - just a little late-night fun and a glass of Prosecco.

How does this stack up against the Ryder release? Is it the same track list? How's the sound quality?
Lame cover art imo, but still interested in this one as the score is such a delight.

Took a while until this was available for an ok price in Europe/Germany (so long that this is actually a 2023 repress with different vinyl color). Sounds great.

Worse cover art but much expanded tracklisting, and pretty darn good mastering. A bit of background noise but I haven't given it a cleaning yet.

Rainy weekend with lots of spins. Here's what I spent most of the weekend with. Many saw multiple spins.

Zombie 4 - Al Festa

I slept on this release for far too long. It's a little pricey imo but Empire of Tombs really went all out for this one. It's a beautiful package and sounds excellent. There's some killer stuff on here.

Bahamut Lagoon - Noriko Matsueda

Another killer SNES JRPG score. I've been after this one since the boot surfaced last year, finally got one for just a little over retail price so I'm pretty happy. Honestly this score is up there with the consoles best for me.

Next up is two horror video game scores, perfect time to arrive

Biohazard (Resident Evil) - Koichi Hiroki, Makoto Tomozawa, & Masami Ueda

This features all of the music from the original Japanese version of the PS1 game, including tons of bonus cuts from other releases as well, including the vocal track that plays over the Japanese credits. It has a bunch of stuff from various versions and CD releases that I'm just not overly familiar with but it's sequenced really well and it's a blast to listen to. The artwork is so ridiculous on it too.

Kuon - Yuji Kanda

From Software survival horror game from the PS2 era. This is a mix of ambient sounds, music and game dialog into a unique listening experience. It does feature the entire soundtrack. Photo doesn't do the packaging justice, it's a really nice jacket with reflective ink used in a few spots on the front and rear of the jacket.

Final Fantasy III [NDS Version] - Nobuo Uematsu, Tsuyoshi Sekito & Keiji Kawamori

I never played this version of the game but these new arrangements are excellent so this is a really fun release
