There is a purity of memory and nostalgia when you can listen to the tracks as heard in the film. The Morricone OST is a great album. It is now excellent to hear the original Carpenter titles and synth treatments right along with the Morricone tracks as laid out in the film. I am fine with OST albums with unused material or later re-recordings, but I feel this will be my go-to listen.

It’s fun to hear Howarth and Carpenter and the band’s modern covers of the material as well on the newer albums.

Nicely put @deaf. I’m sure there are many of us who are in full agreement with your ‘have all the things’ policy :)

For me, this would be worth it if only for finally having the actual main theme from the film as adapted by Carpenter/Howarth and composed by Morricone. How we’ve come to the film’s 40th anniv yet still never had that available on a release is just bananas. And now we do, and more. Yay for us!

Both sound great. The Cerberus appears to have a bit more bass. The Decca sounds more dynamic I think... you can make out the different instruments better. You could go either way. But I see the Decca re-issue on Discogs for $15.... It is worth double that for sure!

Love to see this but also a little sad. I placed an order for Amuck, Hand of Steel and After the Fall of NY with 2HD. He "shipped" my records, after 3 weeks of that shipment never being scanned by USPS I contacted him and he said he was "just going to email me" that the records were returned completely damaged. He's going to contact the label to see if he can get another copy of Amuck and NY as they are both sold out. It's been almost 2 weeks since that last communication. It's so tiring ordering from him. I feel like every other order there's an issue.

Never seen nor heard about this one before. Is it a real score from the seventies or a fictional new score? Galileo only has one credit and I see the performer is Fantasy 15 which is a new band.

Soon enough, however, Massimo is visited by his long-lost lover’s ghost. As the two reconnect and fall in love all over again, Rosalia reveals that she can only stay with Massimo on Earth for two weeks. But Rosalia makes him an offer: at the end of two weeks, he can choose to walk out into the ocean waters to die, trusting that in the next life he will be reunited with Rosalia for a blissful eternity. Or he can leave Mercuri, never to return, forgetting any memory of their love, to resume his life of fleeting pleasure and confusion.

It's a modern group recording an incomplete score from 74 (supposedly). What ever the circumstances are, it's an enjoyable listen. I think a few songs are on streaming (full album might be up by now too)

While Tommasi was alive it was an impossible mission. It is said that he destroyed the original tapes and if you tried to ask him about this score he would send you to hell.
The Zeder gadget is so crazy that it will probably not be possible to ship it outside of Italy. Anyway I'll let you know.

I am guessing you are adding a typewriter to the Zeder score :-)

They announced the director's cut before I could see the theatrical, and thought I'd wait for a Blu ray of the DC. They only released it in Europe, in digital, and in a art edition from A24 directly, I believe. Didn't want an expensive art edition. So. Still unwatched.

Yeah, that whole bullshit with the Directors Cut soured me on buying that movie so I obtained it through other means. Don't make the Directors Cut exclusive to your website for a premium. I would have definitely bought a UHD of the DC if it was a normal edition you could get anywhere.

Checking out the reissue. I was not expecting the content on the full color insert, but always appreciated. I believe somebody was asking about distortions in the sound. I might have caught some on the end of “Trouble”, but I will have to compare to the original now.

@inksb: exactly, I'd buy a regular Blu Ray or 4K of the DC if I could. I guess at some point I'll sit down and stream the thing. Once I've catched up a bit on my "to watch" Blu pile. I just received Evil Dead Trap which I've always loved. I had the DVD.

@Deaf: My copy should arrive soon, with "Utopia". This week I think. Awaiting your comparison to the OG.
