Spence I was curious how you feel about those labels that "borrowed" your business plan having a presence on the board. I thought it was kinda ballsy of one of them to start a label thread on themselves here of all places!

Hopefully there's not going to be a ton of copies being flipped for crazy prices.
I think subscriptions should be ok without increasing the press size because the bigger releases like Maniac and The Fog being separate would probably mean some people would hold off. Or am I just convincing myself ill definitely get one haha.
Also just an idea. Maybe Death Waltz should have its own section with sub topics for separate releases because this thread is getting huge real fast.

Such is life. When people see something that is percived to be doing well they will always copy it. As long as they put their own spin on it and passions into it , good luck to them . I just hope people are here for the right reasons and get involved and don't just self promote. That's why me and Seb (One Way Static) are so tight, I can bounce ideas of him get support of him and it means a lot (especially when the shit hits the fan like yesterday)

We have some crazy stuff to come, if people think The Fog & Maniac are good wait until you have to do some DIY to play one of our records & I really want to start digging now we are established and do some crazy stuff. We have a packed second half of the year that's for sure we are involved with a big festival happening in LA this October and will be over there presenting films and live shows with new releases. The second year in is where we get crazy and deliver our "second album syndrome ' haha
I just want to run the best label I can , I am just a fan which is why I am so vocal and involved.

That DIY idea has me intrigued to say the least! My hats off to you for taking the high road. You can rest assured that there are a bunch of us out here that appreciate your passion and can separate the chaff from the wheat.

The release you tipped off on twitter a while back has absolutely been a grail of mine for quite some time! Being able to finally pin that one down has me psyched!

As soundtracks go, that one ("hello, this is Humanity") is a bit of a biggy, although you might have to travel a bit to get the master...

+1 on upping the subscription number...300 is still pretty exclusive...hell 500 could fall under exclusive too

...or maybe a 2nd tier type subscription for those not lucky enough to be one of 200 or 300 where you would offer up the DW mail order exclusive color...not subscription color...with the "bonuses" of the 1st tier subscription - Plus those with subscription...1st and 2nd tier...would get a first dibs option on the non-subscription offerings...ie The Fog / Maniac - The cost of course would be the same seeing you don't charge over what it cost through mail order as a whole

Hi Static14, we're not on the forum to start any friction. We have much respect for Spencer and his label. We're fans of cinema and collectors of vinyl, and we get excited hearing about what Death Waltz has to offer next. We're excited about One Way Static's upcoming release, Last House On The Left. Furthermore, we're true believers of making allies over enemies. The scene of soundtrack labels and poster artists is very small, and we're very happy and honored to be a part of it. We just want to put as much passion into each release, and make some killer vinyl.

I would agree. Having to check the internet at random times or check early in the morning or even pre-ordering is slowly taking my interest away from soundtracks. I'd rather labels just announce the release when it's for sale and which distributors will have it and, most of all, if it sells out in the blink of an eye, they'll press more.

I don't mind hunting for out of print releases but not brand-spanking new records.

@biteworks @john_flitchy @hncreature we try and keep as many of our releases in stock as possible , certain things like the Fog we are only allowed to press X of. We are seeing if we can do a repress of the Fog at the moment. My goal was always to press the best quality records for as many people as possible to get hold of.

Go on Spencer do a repress for people who missed out. While your on can you cut the next subscription to 5 and do the same as the fog. Nice thick sleeves and heavy vinyl.
