have a little Montparnasse 2000 question for you!
...every now and then i try to fill a little gap or two and apparently i am missing Africadelic's The Name 2 (MP57) and was checking the discogs entry. there is a recent review saying that vol. 2 is the same record as vol. 1. only differemce is the track titles being written in french on one and in english on the other. is that even possible?? could you do a little check for me and the fine folks on this forum?
Yeah the Milian comps are really cool! More even than the records I managed to find.

I have both of those Africadelic records ripped and I can send them to you.
From what I recall, basically it’s the same songs on both records, with different overdubs and different mixes. I can’t recall the difference right off the top of my head but I can double check them in the morning.
And DM your email and I can send you the rips if you wanna hear them yourself.
wow, so nice! i am downloading just now. you are too kind!

now looking at discogs i can see that the track lenghts are different but i will give these files a listen and see...

Whoaaaa, beautiful, @texas! I only got a reissue of that super recently.

@million yeah I remembered the difference back when I ripped them last year but I’ve since forgotten.
I think they basically tracked some songs w a full band and then overdubbed a bunch of African percussion over it. Some versions have both, some are just the band, some are just the percussion. That’s my recollection. I remember thinking that basically it’s the same session, with different mixes leaning on (or omitting) various instruments, spread out onto 2 records.

a little bit of spinning and a random find on the shelf. two ladies libs and every cue is covering a specific colour. that Barigozzi Group is a classic piece while the polish radio and TV orchestra did not get enough attention yet, at least in my opinion. solid album all the way thorugh. lavish 80s mood...

Agreed! Although I can't really contribute because my library collection is so tiny. I just depend on all of you guys to post your records so I can look them up and realize that I can't afford any of them lol

I would love to get a copy of that Woman's Colours eventually.

been listening to this today. really nice library related stuff. i believe that only very few (less than 200?) were made but it got a repress on Be With Records. hypnotic, melodic, melancholic stuff. really a great listen! watch out for the artist, he did a wonderful KPM tribute. so far digital only, but i guess this might make it on vinyl as it is too good!

@million it really is, a great leap forward past the first two. it's great!!

I haven't done a library mix in a while. I was giving my son a bath and getting him ready for bed and trying to do this at the same time. I didn't plan anything out just grabbed a couple dozen records from one cube and hit record for an hour. maybe you will dig it.

I personally have been swamped with work for the last 3 weeks and have barely entered my office, so I have a huge backlog of stuff to listen to, including a ton of De Wolfe I’ve been slowly acquiring. I had to sort of come to terms with the fact that a lot of the De Wolfes that I still want and need are going to be expensive, so I’m trying to limit myself to 1 or 2 a month because they’re so pricey.

Because I’ve been so slammed at work, I can’t remember what I’ve posted and what I haven’t (and I’m too lazy to look back) so here’s all the De Wolfe I’ve gotten in the last couple of months:

De Wolfe adjacent, I guess:

There’s a good handful of records in there that I took chances on because there aren’t any samples of any of them anywhere, and a lot of them ended up being terrific. I’m surprised that some of these don’t have any YouTube representation at all (Prestige Line is one).
