updated pic to come once all the recent orders are in.
Haha nice I wonder if it was the copy I also put a really low offer on. I found out today my offer was rejected. Good one I’m jealous👊

So I just made a deal to acquire POD and They Live so when it comes to OG Carpenter I believe my quest is over.... well I guess a copy of Waiting out the eighties on vinyl would be the crown jewel of my collection. Too bad it’s impossible to find and way out of my price range but a boy can dream.

Also part of the deal I grabbed a couple other soundtracks that I’ve seen spun in these here parts.

Congrats @pete I've been hunting for PoD for a while. There were a few last summer on eBay for $50 and I didn't pull the trigger. Really bummed I didn't as the pricce has been creeping up and up. Just saw another sell for $100 on eBay this week.

Pretty ticked off at this seller on ebay. I put an offer in for DotD for $85, he had it listed for $150. He told me he wanted to keep it at that price for a few weeks weeks to see if it would sell. I get a message from ebay this morning saying it sold for $85. It's been less than a week...

Ugh people suck.I had something funky like that happening with silver bullet last month. This is why I want more and more to just deal in person. Case in point today - A copy of videodrome popped on discogs at way too high a price for me right now and I was about to just move on from it when I saw that it was listed by someone I knew (long story short this guy is just recently in charge of moving a truly massive and somewhat legendary collection around these parts, so there are gems of all genres, tastes, and grooves that will be popping up for likely years to come and this was one of them). Drove up there this morning to see if he could move on the price and not only did he do so quite generously but also pulled a stunning copy of the cinevox original dawn pressing (silver goblin not the more elusive green for those playing at home) that he had also just unearthed. The size of his stock cannot be underestimated unfortunately where it falls short ultimately is organization, so things are just going to come popping out of the woodwork for a while yet.

The downside is of course it is that much harder to walk away when this stuff is physically in your hands, so it was an unexpectedly pricey Saturday...but less that it could have and should have been.

These VS dawns are going for so much, all the prices seem to be creeping up and up, and it’s not just soundtracks, there’s a manufactured scarcity happening out there and it’s making this hobby even more expensive since that it used to be right now. It’ll calm down again eventually but yikes

Congrats on both of those dude! Nice.

I'd love to know how that Cinevox Dawn sounds... and whether it's mastering is as polite as the AMS reissue. Still such a baffling choice to me, considering the nature of the score/band.

You know it’s funny, I almost PM’d you about this. I immediately went back to your comparison post because I couldn’t recall which one you didn’t have. I have both and will spin today and report to the team!

The guy has a Japanese roller, an Italian first press roller, and a Japanese Il fantastico viaggio del "bagarozzo" Mark that is overpriced but tempting.

One of the issues this guy is having is that because of the organization of the collection, there’s stuff that was previously priced outrageously lying around that he has to then bring down or $1000 records that were sitting in bins for $50 that he needs get out of the boxes and on to walls and there’s just so much to go through on top of running the actual store and also you know...living a life. To sum up the situation, he’s in charge of a store he used to just manage after the owner passed away last year. The owners widow gave him the keys to the kingdom essentially along with the owners personal collection to move as well. I wouldn’t consider it hyperbole to suggest this is maybe one of the finest collections in the north east and there will be some major things discovered lurking in these boxes as his personal collection makes its way to the store. We’re talking rare pressings, test pressings, signed copies of god knows what. Likely every punk and hardcore boot to come out of New York in multiple copies since the 80s, A Beatles collection that would make Paul blush and because of his own personal taste, probably plenty more morsels of our ilk to come as well. I’m holding out there’s an evil dead in there waiting for me haha

I may be striking out on the big ones (DotD, Creepshow, NOES) but I've been getting lucky with some of the others, just grabbed The Burning for a very reasonable price.

Very jealous of that one @static. Wax in good condition? Jacket looks pretty good outside of a few creases and dings.

Does this happen to any one else? You put an offer in on a record, don't hear anything for days, put an offer in on a random other record and boom the other seller just so happens to accept your offer and now you are buying 2-3 records at once, going why the fuck did I just do this to myself? It's been happening a lot to me lately.

This is my dream to come across a store like this. I’m excited for you hope you are able to grab some gems :). Or should I feel sorry for your wallet. Congrats on Videodrome it’s been at time top of my list for a real long time.

this is interesting and very sketchy

I found a posting for NOES Japanese pressing on ebay. It's over priced and missing the obi, didn't think much of it. Ebay serves up another posting today at an even higher price and I thought the seller raised his price. I clicked on it and realized there were two listings from two different sellers using the exact same water marked images.

I am seeing this more often lately for sellers on ebay to list items from YJA/Mercari/Hardoff/Bookoff/etc and heavily inflate the price even when they do not even have the item! This is why we are seeing multiple listings of the same things with flippers trying to undercut each other on the same pre-flipped item from yahoo auctions or Mercari listings or whatever. What a fucking scam. If you see stuff like this, it's likely out there somewhere on YJA or another site in Japan for way less right now.

Also in what world is the hidden worth $300. Even WITH crazy shipping from Europe right now I could by 4 of them for that much. That’s a $25-35 record
