I picked up the Morricone Western Themes 2xLP comp from Music On Vinyl over the weekend, sound unheard. As a matter of fact, I don't even know the track listing so I'm curious to see which, if any, less obvious gems are on there.
I have all 5 in the series currently on their way to me -- although there will obviously be some overlay with some of the scores I already own, I listened to the Lounge and Giallo ones and loved the flow of each! And the packaging/covers look great so I just had to have them!

I resisted the urge to pack in all five. For now. I love a good comp as long as it has at least as much material that I don't/won't own on wax as that which I do. Hoping this fits the bill. If so, I'll assuredly pick up at least the Lounge and Giallo packages as well.
I also coincidentally ordered the Western comp over the weekend. While I own the Leone trilogy & The Big Gundown & as much as I would like to own more of the full OSTs, I think this should suffice for now. Plus by the looks of it, MOV has also included images of the Italian one sheets in the gatefold which is a nice touch. The other 4 in the series will be on my radar.

I wanted to get all of them as well but at the moment my focus lies in getting each individual release. The Morricone Segretto contains music that wasn't released before and focuses a bit more on
The hidden, dark-tingled and psychedelic side of the Maestro.

Official soundtrack for the Stephen King film "Maximum Overdrive"
so where exactly does one file this, in Rock or movie soundtracks?

I don't know Tim, but I do know I am really tempted to design/print a 'film soundtrack' sleeve for this album :D

(based on the insane one sheet, of course...)

Oh wow, that looks sweet! If you did that I might be enticed to file it with my soundtracks. Currently I file it with my one other AC/DC album. :)

So, here's what I o. Scores are filed alpha by composer, Soundtracks are filed alpha by movie. I'd probably put this one in soundtracks.

My mother used to rent this for me when i was a kid, she LOVED this movie for some reason and it obviously wasn't that old a film by that point, maybe 8 or 9 years the first time i watched it. I don't even know how she saw it, it wasn't the type of thing she'd go out of her way to see in 1985, but in any case...i grew up with this movie never realizing for YEARS that it wasn't all that popular outside a certain "sophisticated" group. The fact that it got a blu ray remaster and a vinyl score release in the last few years is more than i could ever have hoped for. The main theme slaps, Chun running across water slaps, one of my favorites. I think i may watch it right now. (i'm in the middle of a massive aparmtent overhaul otherwise i'd listen)
