The Division 13/Julie/walking out theme is one of my favorite Carpenter melodies/arrangements, this whole score is not talked about nearly enough, even by us here.
Agreed I bought this record a couple years ago. Played the crap out of it the. Kinda forgot about it. It’s definitely one of my favourites
It was one of the first DW releases I got, right from the old webstore before the merger. I remember when it came in and I realized that this boutique reissue thing was going to be a real problem for me, such a great package

I can’t remember what DW/Mondo release was my first either this or the Fog. I remember picking it up from a local record store, bringing it home and really getting into the music and packaging. This sparked me to go on their website to see what else they were selling. Cut to now I have a shelf full of them and I now realize how so many of there releases are very cookie cutter

Both of those LPs were pre-merger.

I think I was a little late to the game so for me they were always one company. It must have been pretty recent after the merger because I remember them talking about it.

Now that you mention it though the early DW releases seem to be a little more unique. Does anybody know around what release it started to become cut and paste?

I just want to make it clear that I do like Mondo/DW, I just feel like they’re not hitting it out of the park with packaging. In the end ultimately it’s about the music for me and they have definitely opened me up to new music. Fabio Frizzi is probably my favourite (next to Carpenter of course) and I can thank Death Waltz for that. Now the quality on some of their pressings don’t get me started.

Merger was January 2015. Prior to that packaging was fantastic. I believe The Raid was the final of the last sub and had the better packaging. One of the first of the new style releases was the RSD release Big Bad Wolves but also Zombie Holocaust was around that time.

A really good gatefold sleeve can be a joy to the world, but I don't think much of the DW standard gatefold sleeves if I'm honest - they don't sit flat, feel flimsy and often come unglued. I'm pretty sure they are pressing at GZ and in my experience their basic gatefold sleeves fit all those criteria unfortunately.

The Carpenter Vinyl Odyssey continues, praise be! Now, I wouldn't mind Vampires and Body Bags too at some point though I won't lose any sleep meanwhile... but for the love of all that is decent can SOMEBODY PLEASE PUT MOUTH O' MADNESS TO SHELLAC!!?

I second this. I am shocked that no one has yet to release this, if/when it gets released I want the music from the movie and not a re-record with his band.

I want all three of those in this order In the Mouth of Madness, Body Bags then Vampires. Give me a bundle sell them all at once, I don't care I want them.

Admission time, I don't own Prince of Darkness on vinyl even though it's one of my favorites. I've been trying to secure a decently priced VS copy for the last 2 years and while I've had a few close calls with deals and purchases they have all fell through. I found one on ebay about 2 months ago in OK condition for $55 and I should have just bought it but I was wavering back and forth and it got grabbed before I could convince myself to buy it. Any one has an extra copy of the VS pressing let me know :)

It had been a long while since my last spin too. The days when it was released were awesome.

@Hatter313 : Agreed ! Shame that the deal Death Waltz had made to release Hammer scores didn't seem to bring us more that this one and Twins of Evil... And maybe a few others I can't remember on the top of my head.
