Testify!

There were a few titles bandied around, we should set up a vote

.
I for one look forward to thinking I’ll make it and then having something preposterous come up, as is my custom

Yes, Big Guns is a great score.
But when I hear the first track of this one I already prefer this.
I should revisit some gialli this year, but still have some I have never seen to get to first.

@Bez: Yes, "Una Farfalla" is great, - and I can in turn understand if you prefer it to "Tony Arzenta".
I also quite like the movie, it's a solid giallo, maybe a bit lengthy in places/quite a lot of police investigation stuff.

Re the Japanese Tony Arzenta: This is the coolest looking version of the score. BUT this version has movie clips and dialogue from the movie on it. I personally don't like that, especially if it blends into the music (first seconds of some tracks are very quiet and overpowered by dialogue). I sold mine 2 or 3 years ago as this bugged me but this is of course a question of taste. In any case it has become rather expensive, especially in strong condition/with OBI.

In my view the best version to own if you like the score is the Easy Temp release from 1999 - it's expanded (2 LP) with no dialogue/movie scenes. It has the beautiful title song "L'Appuntamento" sung by Ornella Vanoni on it which - if I'm not mistaken - is not on the Italian OG and Spettro rerelease (but it's on the Japanese OG). It actually starts with this song, which in turn imo makes it an equally strong start in terms of listening experience as "Una Farfalla".
Some of the Easy Tempo releases have become quite hard to find and thus pricey but this one is still easy to get hold off.

Thanks for this info. I did not know that about the Japanese release. Still want it though :-)

And I agree on the Easy Tempo releases. I have a lot of them on my want list but other stuff gets in the way. At the moment I only have 5. Brilliant label!

The main theme is so rinsed I always forget that the rest of this OST is amazing. 'no name bar' and 'do your thing' such good tracks.

Ah thanks ! I still have all the records in boxes but I open one, spin a bit what's in it, then put it back with the other boxes, stacked against the wall. Last week I received my new Kallax shelves that were finally restocked, they are 3x4 that I'm gonna lay on their side. It's not ideal because the long shelves are gonna be vertical. So I've strengthened them with L brackets and now I'm looking to secure the Kallax to the walls. I'm not sure if we have wood beams or metal, in the walls. I'm verifying with the people who know, then I'll be good to go with securing to the walls and finally shelving the records.

It never even occurred to me to think about the “long shelves” but I can say that I’ve used an old 2x4 expedit on its “side” for 7 years and a 3 x 4 kallax on its “side” for at least 3 and now I’m going to be thinking about it constantly

Y’all killing me here. I got hit with the marital cease and desist last week. “NO CRATES IN OUR HOUSE!” I’ve filled my 3 x3 and she’s standing strong. I’m gonna have to cull or move some shit into storage.

Hahaha, yeah I have a 2x4, a 2x2, a 1x5 and a 5x5 expedit in various configurations and the 3x4 Kallax and most of them I’ve had for nearly a decade. Those other ones are long shelf horizontal, and not all of them are records (because who doesn’t want to also collect books, movies, art, and artifacts in a 750sqft apartment)

Also thank you for reminding me I don’t have this score and that I need to remedy that.

I was seriously considering spending the 1st as a “shwarzanewyear” day and this was totally on the watch list
