I got this reply from BTF which I find less that satisfactory for a record I've paid 50 € for...

I’m sorry for these defects but all copies have these bad sounds on B1 especially.

It’s because the coloured used during the vinyl creation. The coloured vinyls are more to be collected than listened to.
The better sounding records are the black ones and the white ones.

For this situation I can also send you a new copy of the vinyl but you’ll face the same distortions on that track

I wrote and asked BTF for a replacement copy, but I also suggested they send a black edition instead as compensation (due to the comment above about all copies of the special ed. being bad). I received that one today, so I'm a happy camper.

Haha, that's what I'm thinking. I almost picked up Patrick, but I got Roller instead. I went off the advice of two fans who were there. They said the best record they put out wasn't in stock at the time. I'll have to try to listen to it tomorrow.

Roller is a great album, not a soundtrack but it is much better than Patrick. An album full of ideas and desire to play, with different styles and great musicianship. I reviewed Roller here but it is in Italian.

I have been collecting their music for 20+ years, and I was lucky enough to see them live twice in the last few months (both as "New Goblin" in LA, with Simonetti still in the band, and just a few days ago in Miami, the second show of the latest US tour). I'm also glad to read the reports regarding the defective and/or noisy issues with the recent vinyl editions. I love vinyl and consider myself an audiophile (Prima Luna tube amp, Sonus faber speakers, Oppo 95 digital front-end, Nordost cables, etc), but I'm getting a little sick and tired of the whole vinyl re-issue nonsense. They are mostly sourced from digital files to begin with (and low res at that!) the colored vinyl is more problematic than rewarding, and the price gouging needs to stop! I paid $35+ for the latest re-releases of "ROLLER" and "CONTAMINATION", and they were both a big let-down, other than the great looking presentation/sleeves. "CONTAMINATION" had a lot of gunk that I am still trying to remove, even after multiple wash cycles. Side B is very, very noisy. A shame. I thought it was bad luck on my part, but it seems not. I'm all for fan-produced, limited, beautiful looking special editions, but $35 is too high a price to pay for a glorified cardboard sleeve, regardless of its thickness.

Having said that... I just purchased a copy of the latest "NonHoSonno" release. Black vinyl for me, though. No more colored vinyl BS. Crossing my fingers this one actually sounds ok! It's one of my favorite soundtracks.

My copy of Suspiria on purple vinyl has swooshing on the two sides and is off-center a little bit especially on side two i think it's a spell from the witches

Got my copy of The Good The Bad and The Ugly from LITA today, ace job. The green vinyl is transparent and kinda hazy; the only thing I can compare it to is the Mondo version of The Beyond, but green. No sound issues as some have reported with color vinyl from AMS, and I really like the double sided insert with all the international posters.

Also, this vinyl version has about two minutes of extra music on the end of the last track, The Trio. It caught me off guard hearing it continue, but it's amazing, as I always felt my CD copy ended abruptly. According to the Wikipedia page, this extra music was included on a CD reissue in mono only.

Mine of "rsd14 The good the bad and the ugly" is not perfectly flat and has three big pops at approximately 1 minute of track 5 Side 2. So i must be unlucky on this one too apart these little defaults, i listen with pleasure the end of Side B with the entire final track
Anyway, i love the AMS catalog and apart some little defaults of pressing, all the vinyl are handled with care, sleeves are never damaged, black vinyl are perfect and the communication with them is very helpful.

I have NoHoSonno on vinyl, and it is fine. What is the source of these reissues? Analogue or digital?

Just received my "4 mosche..." on splatter vinyl and the pressing quality is Top ! No surface noise, no defaults, pops... this one is a must have

I got my GBU RSD in the post today. I was curious to listen to it as I'd picked up the "Morricone Collected" on MOV last week and some of the songs sounded re-recorded. So I compared the two GBU tracks on there with the RSD and my original UK press.

Not only do you get a significantly longer version of the The Trio, but you get a much longer version of Story of a Soldier, plus one extra track on side two and a whole four extra on side one. I've got the old 2001 GDM version on CD and they're the versions off that, fwiw.

I wonder how the TGTBATU RSD vinyl compares to the extended CD (this one), content wise? Has anybody had the chance to compare both?

Yeah as ^, same versions but 16 vs 21 tracks.

I think the only vinyl release that matches the GDM version is the Dagared 2 x LPs from the same year.
