The Thing - Ennio Morricone
Waxwork Records WW027
I usually reach for my original MCA, figured I switch it up this time

Great soundtracks! I should have ordered the Ori repress. I still haven't played part 2 yet. I didn't love the first game but thought it was alright, music was beautiful though.

ImageGianfranco & Gian Piero Reverberi - Preparati la bara! OST [Digitmovies LPDM030]

Aka - Django, Prepare a Coffin, an excellent spaghetti western score that has been missing in my life. Classic instrumentation with solo guitar, piano, and/or flute featured on most tracks. You can even hear the killer bass riff that Gnarls Barkley ripped for his big hit “Crazy” on the intro to one of the tracks, but the lead vocal tune in this film is the unifying theme throughout (although instrumental on other tracks) and it sounds great in both English and Italian:

Love it! Great movie as well. Next year I might place my focus again on spaghetti westerns and accompanying scores.

I forgot I had this one. I belongs to my giallo score collection.

However this comment on Discogs is correct:
Although this prog dbeut classic from New Trolls working with Luis Enriquez Bacalov is credited on the rear cover as being: Colonna Sonora Originale del film "La Vittima Designata" - that's Original Soundtrack to the film "The Designated Victim" it is not really true. The compositions that make up side one do all feature in the film, but all in very different arrangements. Most notably 2° Tempo: Adagio (Shadows) that opens the film (credited there as "My Shadow In The Dark" - look it up on YouTube) is performed by New Trolls, with different strings and lead vocals by the actor Thomas Milian! Also in the film New Trolls are seen and heard busking an acoustic version of the same song. Great album and great film (a wonderful Hitchcock meets Argento type Giallo) maybe someday an actual soundtrack album will be released?
Nonetheless it is a fantastic record and a great giallo.

I've only seen "Django" just recently. Really good movie and the OST was good on that one too, the "Django" theme is such a fun song. I definitely wanna check out more, so I'll have to grab a copy of that one.

Ahh man, that sucks all the balls. Maybe... switch to digital for the rest of your music today? Just to be safe :(

It will not help AT ALL, but once when I was rearranging and cleaning shelves etc, I had a stack of around 150x osts all sat on top of a high surface, flat stacked.... and yep, I banged into them with my elbow and the whole pile crashed corner-first about four feet to the hard floor. All told, there were about half of them with completely crushed corners, the rest with more mild corner creasing, but stlll - there were some precious ass records in that pile.

I have never stacked again.

I do feel a bit defeated now...
However, it is what it is. I'll play a tape next. Those are harder to break :-)

@bez that's awful. I'll add my story to the mix. I have a dust cover on my technics, it opens wide enough to pull the record out with no clearance issues but one day I was moving too fast and when I flipped the record I caught the edge on the dust cover, the momentum of the flip caused it to go flying out of my hands when it caught the edge. It landed on the spindle and gouged the fuck out of the record. the grooves were toast :(

But it was a Barbara Streisand thrift store, LP, right? Right??!

Ugh these stories don't help at all, I'm sure. Thoughts and prayers, @Bez.

No....it was a brand new soundtrack that I was listening to for the first time, flipping from A to B. I had to walk away and do something else for a while to make the sting hurt a little less. Although I think it was something still in print at least and only cost $25

Sorry @Bez, that stinks. :(

Excellent Adventure.

We went and saw Face The Music last night at the drive in. It was a lot of fun. :)
