Yeah, not seen it but will look out for a copy. My wife and i have near zero overlap in our taste in films and I have to be careful with a toddler in the house so I have a big backlog of things I haven't got round to seeing.

My limit was always around $80-100 until a friend in Germany found a copy of Carlo Maria Cordio's Absurd, then it very quickly and very easily went to $180. As soon as that mind shift happened, my new line in the sand is now $180. I've paid close to that for two other records and have my eyes on another, Carlos has done some damage.

My biggest to date was about $100 for a signed by Nick Castle...the original Shape...Mondo H35 press of Halloween - Total justification purchase...of course...$30 for Lp...$30 for ticket in...gas from San Diego to Pasadena...possibly a fee for the signature...so I'm OK with that total - Back in the day I paid $50 ea for a Faction "No Hidden Messages" Lp and Negative Approach "Tied Down" 12"

Another one related to this subject - A sealed copy of Mondo's The Beyond sold for $210 recently. Weird, this is higher than I've seen either variant go for, and there's no telling what variant this sealed copy is! Is it common for people to buy sealed vinyl just to keep it sealed on a shelf? Sealed just guarantees it's "as new" (hesitant to say mint here considering the state of half of what appears from pressing plants these days). It's one way to avoid hopelessly optimistic gradings from sellers.

There are people who will sit on a mint copy of something if they think its value will go up but that's not what I'm buying records for.

I do sometimes wonder what a shrinkwrap machine would cost though...

There has only been one guy selling the Edward Scissorhands soundtrack on eBay and discogs for the past 6 months or so. Asking $599.99. Seriously, go fuck yourself dude. I'd pay $100 for it, which is about my personal limit.

There's a lot of this nonsense on discogs/ebay/amazon. I guess these people figure that if they have the only one listed maybe someone will be desperate enough to buy it. Also the "I don't really want to sell this but I would for $crazy amount" thought process. It looks really silly when there are others listed at normal prices though.

I collect music like I collect videogames, and I think my limit on records is about £50 and my limit on games is £100, neither of which price I've hit so far. Mainly because I have a totally cack job and get paid shite wages, so anything approaching those limits really has to be significantly worth it.

(most I've paid for a record has been £45 or so, and the most for a game has been £60)

A conspiracy theorist would say that with it being announced that DW will also release Beyond, it would be in flippers' best interest to artificially raise the market price of Mondo's version and offload their stock before the marketplace is flooded…

Early last year I paid $110 for a copy of BOC's Music Has The Right To Children. The vinyl was dead mint and it played new. Once the official represses were announced, it went straight on eBay and went for $130, which bought me all of the BOC represses, so a pretty good deal. And having both, I can say the repress looked identical, even the weird swirl to the grooves in the vinyl.

I have the NIN Ghosts $300 package, that's probably the most I've paid for a release. Those are the only two things I've paid more than $100 for, though some have been right on the line.
