Rouge Gorge mean Red Throat in French. It is also the french name for the Robin (bird). So in a one hand it's gore and in an other one it is poetic.

Well. Here I... am.

Francis Dolarhyde from Manhunter 1986, not the inferior remake (I know I got the spelling wrong, doh!)

he's awesome in manhunter, apparently he avoided all contact with with rest of the cast during filming to get into the role.

Yeah - he also did that on The Monster Squad to scare the crap outta the little kids! So it's obviously something he "does". Very very cool guy. His part/performance as "Sammy" in Synecdoche NY I always find incredibly touching.

4000 Days is a song by my favorite "rock" band of all time, Luna. They were a dream-pop/indie-rock band that formed out of the ashes of Galaxie 500. The song itself isn't one of their best, but the title and a couple of the lyrics have significance for me.

4000 days is just shy of 11 years, which is the same amount of time I spent in active addiction. The lyrics that always play in my head are "Do you remember stumbling home? Do you remember dancing alone?". I do remember that shit, and I never want to forget it. Thus, for the past 5+ years, since I got my shit together - 4000 days has been my screen name for various sites.

Maybe you didn't need all the self-disclosure, but it's kind of interesting. Maybe...

Inspuring stuff, 4000days. Congrats and thanks for sharing! Music can be a powerful memory stimulus. Sometimes I'll listen to a record or track and remember a smell. Wild!

Names pretty simple, tried going for a play on words. I get 'bored' often and resort to movies (reel) therefore I get reely-bored. There :-)

Philip (lover of horses, greek) (K) Dick (german, a version of fat). A rendering of the sci-fi author (one of my personal favs) and the '3rd person' character from Valis.

Horselover Fat...I used the ebonic 'phat' for a twist.

So,
There I was. Young, white, loving the Beastie Boys. My friend and I are going to make a white rap group as well, and he already has his name...White Chedda. I am very jealous. Then I am on vacation with my family in Baltimore. A bell hop is helping us with our bags at the hotel, so I check out his name tag. Icy Jones. Icy Jones?!!??!?! How awesome is that? So, keeping in tradition of white music, I stole the name. It has been my failed rap name, my failed wrestling name, and my successful online name ever since. Awesome because I never have to add numbers or whatnot.

So here's my story......

About 40 years ago in the year of 1974 I was born, my parents whose surname was Ball named me Philip.
As I grew into a young teenager I decided Phil was a bit cooler and so I changed it and have kept it ever since.

Unfortunately I grew up with little imagination which has plagued me throughout my adult life too.

My story is boring...

If you don't know, and I expect that you don't, I make strange music sometimes and wanted a name that would represent my weird music. I drew inspiration directly from the names like VHS Dreams,Repeated Viewing,Pentagram Home Video and French artist Fléau which translates to Plague.
So from plague came Virus but Virus sounded too DJ and that would misrepresent the way that I make music. I needed something with video in the title so that it would be considered genre specific. All the cool kids love to misspell words-so,Vires. Vires is a Latin word,it's meaning has a connotation that I don't identify with.
Then Video Resolution was an option and I made the connection of that with Vires. The hyphen splits the difference. I think that the name confuses people and so it should but it stuck like all terrible nicknames do.

See? Boring.
