The special Sacred Bones version is glow-in-the-dark vinyl, for that immersive experience of crackle, crackle, crackle.

It'd be super rad if they just released the second LP of the additional 24 cues. I don't want to rebuy the LP I already have.

I have to admit, my first emotion when reading about the expanded version was annoyance. It was just a year ago that we got the first version -- couldn't they have put the expanded version together then? Do I need to buy the same music plus a little more a short time later?

I also admit that I'm a little grumpy today.

Of you don’t want GITD, there are 10 other variants to choose from

Thanks, Mr. Gibbs! Bullmoose is a chain local to me, so I'll give them some money.

One other note about Bull Moose -- if you're in the US and your order is more than $30 (price at Bullmoose is around $32), you can get free media mail shipping.

As much as the glow in the dark might look cool, my inner "oh yeah, I want the music to sound good" came out and I bought the Single Black Single Orange release.

My exact initial reaction.

I miss Bull Moose. I used to live in Newmarket NH and frequent the Portsmouth location often. I still order from them online though as they usually have great prices and like you said anything over $30 is free shipping.

+1, and I really love this OST, but also feeling some variant overload. Imagine the stress of the hardcore Halloween/horror collectors trying to get all of them.

Considering Ive ended up with multiple copies of all the SB Carpenter LPs (cuz of mail ordering direct from source, buying at shows AND picking up from local retail store) Imma happily sit this one out until my local shop gets em in.

And... Good luck with those splattery glow-jobs, folks! You can always make a nice clock out of em!

@reddye, I'm with you. I'm not sure I'll jump on this right away. To me, this is simply a money grab.

dear soundtrack labels. There are literally thousands of scores begging for release, re-release, or expanded vinyl pressings. Pick one of those instead of constantly releasing , re-releasing, and expanding on each other releases(and your own). It’s annoying AF!

Enjoy The Ride releasing Tales From The Crypt! :)

https://enjoytheriderecords.com/collect ... ypt-etr085

Preorder goes live on Friday.

By the by, the preorder from ETR’s site has a gatefold cover and apparently the other version up for preorder on Amazon and other sites is not. Seems another label creeped in and is releasing it as well. :( Give ETR your cash, they deserve it in my humble opinion.

Seems ETR was... Well unaware of another release. So again I say give ETR your money. Supporting them is supporting a label that gives AF.

My take on the Halloween 2018 soundtrack (appart from the Glow in the dark shenanigan) is, why even release a single LP last Year if they had rights to a double lp worth set of tracks, why not just do a double LP to begin with. I really enjoy getting my hands on expanded soundtracks, and gladly double dip on my favorite titles when I have an old OG and a new expanded version gets released. This new double LP is totally worth releasing, but it should have been what was released in the begining. a movie from 2018, first released on wax in 2018, should have an epanded edition released a year after. As a consumer, it feels like I've been misdirected into buying twice. I'll totally get the standard orange and black 2LP release, but this marketing strategy sucks a bit.

Still, I like Sacred Bones, and hope they don't do that move in the future.

I imagine that SB hit Carpenter up to see if he had anything they could release for Halloween this year, and in their discussions it came up that there was possibility of expanded release of last year's OST.

Buying the unnecessary Pentagram Home Video coffee mug gave me more satisfaction than that Halloween record.

But Sacred Bones / Carpenter do know their audience when in 24 hours the Waxwork and GID version sell out.

It seems like a lot but when I priced out making myself a mug it cost $12-$15 depending on what I was doing. You only got a price break of a few dollars if you went over 50 I think. I would order one myself if I wasn't afraid of it getting destroyed in shipping (and shipping is $12 too). It's definitely pricey but kind of the going rate from the prices I got for my office.
