I'm 3 episodes in and still kind of lost. Definitely rewatch or at least find some sort of recap video. I love the time machine tech, it's so simple looking and not really explained which I appreciate.
The wife and I love our cartoons, we watch a lot of them and we try to have cartoons on every sunday morning while we have our coffee and eat breakfast. We watch both old and new, some of our more recent favorites have been TMNT (2012), Adventure Time, Regular Show, Gravity Falls, Ducktales (2017) and My Hero Academia. Well I stumbled upon an article about a show having it's series finale on the same night as GoT, it was a show I had never even heard of called Star Vs the Forces of Evil. So I decided to check it out, it seemed to come from the same group CalArts kids who created Steven Universe and Gravity Falls (they all have a very similar art and character style). Well we have blown through 3 seasons and are on the final season now. The show is quite amazing, it's cute fairly kid friendly but goes quite dark for a Disney show with themes of loss and deep seeded hatred, losing everything you have, love and friendship. It has a great voice cast, some really clever stories and most important for something like this, characters you grow to love. The very basic set up (and it's much more than this) is a Princess from another dimension comes to Earth as an exchange student to learn responsibility and what it's like to be a normal person. She lives with a family becomes best friends with their son and he helps her fight off the evil guys who want to steal her magical wand. This is just season one, everything beyond that get's much crazier, they pretty much leave Earth about half way through season 2 and you only see it once in a great while after that. It's not going to be for everyone but if you love cartoons, looking for something new that actually has a well thought out story and characters and is fun give it a shot.
