My replacement copy was also warped. They seemed to have some issues with the haze vinyl edition.

Nice @bez! I want that soundtrack but just keep hoping some one represses it for $30 I'm sure I will ultimately regret not buying one of these at the current market value.

I am very happy to get that one for 50 euro...
Only now I notice it contains Manhattan Baby on side A and other movies on side B.

Here is a $30 re-issue containing more music: https://www.discogs.com/sell/item/884338236

I have not yet seen the movie but am planning on this weekend.

Thanks for that link! As for the film, I'm a huge Fulci fan, this is one of his worst films that I've seen. It's not poorly made, in fact I think it's made quite well for what it is. The problem I had with the film is that it's fairly boring. The score is the best part. I dont' want to deter you from watching it but just don't go in expecting The Beyond or City of the Living Dead. I think it has the most "Fulci Eye Close-ups" in any of his films. I have the fancy 3 disc special edition bluray that Blue Underground put out a year or two ago, I'm glad it's in my collection but I went in with pretty high expectations and came out the other side kind of flat.

It is a movie I need to have seen at some point. But maybe I'll postpone a viewing after reading this :-)

Yeah, if you are a Fulci fan then it is a must watch but if you are just interested in Fulci I can recommend about 10 other films form his career that are worth watching over that one.

I am interested and don't mind the crushed corner. I'm on a buying freeze for the next few weeks but I'll shoot you a PM when I get back to picking up stuff again.

Great package from HHV.de this morning, super fast shipping (three days from Germany to UK!)

Have spun NEXT OF KIN (Schulze) a few times, it's wonderful - somewhere between Sorcerer and Firestarter, a great OST even if it's mostly cues from previously released Schulze LPs temped-in by the director at the time, rather than the original score that was delivered/rejected (which is sadly not represented on this release).

Now moving on to:

Been eyeing this for ages, have seen @Static spinning it up in here many times. Man it's bloody marvellous - on point orchestrated horror, somewhere between classic Manfredini and Donaggio/DePalma. I 'm also getting real IT (1990 score)
feels during the carnival-esque moments, and looking into it the Intrada promo CD notes from '98 mention Richard Bellis as 'orchestrator'... John Beal also mentions his contribution by name and thanks him for 'turning the carousel orchestra concept into the most magical of colors...' Seems like Bellis was trialling some later scoring ideas on this project.

For an unofficial/promo only release (read: straight up boot!!) this also sounds damn solid, I have much noisier and less punchy 'official' releases in my collection!

Highly recommended.

havershaw wrote: Sat May 11, 2019 9:20 pm how much dialogue is there?
It's in between every track, and fairly substantial. But unlike Brother Stat, I like it personally- despite it not usually being something I'm crazy about. For me it works well here, and plays out in quite a 'Tarantino OST album' way. The music is so awesome though I'm just happy to have it, even a boot tbh- can add it to my Tobe collection next to my gnarly TCM boot! ;)

@deaf, I think I recall there was an issue with the haze vinyl of Candyman 2. I got a replacement too, but I think got one of the different variants that they offered. Digitally, I've put the Candyman 1 & 2 scores together, as I think 2 is quite short.

I actually drove that Alfa seen on the back of the cover for two years. Well not that car, but the same model in purple. Belonged to my girlfriend when I met her. At that time it was standing still for three years. While I was getting my driving license we had it fixed. It became out daily driver for two years and 40,000 km. Seeing these Italian cop movies really make me miss that car.
Anyways. Great movie and great soundtrack!

I have never seen the movie but I love the score.
Next movie challenge for me is going to be to watch a movie for a score I own that I have never seen... Might actually be a few...
