I have no idea what those records are but packages from Japan are always a good thing :-)
They are all City Pop records. From top left to bottom right
Akina Nakamori - Fushigi
Junko Yagami - Mr Metropolis
Akiko Yano - Iroha Ni Konpeitou
Kikuchi Momoko - Ocean Side

I'm not actually sure if you would categorize Akiko's album as City Pop as it's from '77 and doesn't really follow the formula, she's a bit weirder and more experimental. It's still a pop album just not by the exact standards of City Pop.
city pop... is this pop music with japanese vocals? if so I can understand that those can be a very fun listen

Yeah it's Japanese pop from the late 70's through 80s. Usually mixing elements of funk, r&b, disco, sythnpop, rock. It's a lot of fun. Future Funk & Vaporwave sample a lot from City Pop albums.

Check out Tatsuro Yamashita - For You it's one of the genre's classics.

or

Taeko Ohnuki - Sunshower

Sparkle (first song on For You) is such a great song, if that doesn‘t put one in a good mood mood I don‘t know what does.

I quite like listening to City Pop, it‘s music from a time when the Japanese economy was growing and growing so everybody was happy and had a good time, I think that comes across pretty well.

Personally there‘s only so much I can ‚take‘ of that style of music at once though, I usually prefer to listen to one side of a City Pop album and then something else. It‘s like with a good dessert for me - one is enough. :)

I totally get this sentiment. I got through phases of music with this mentality at times. I'll want to hear some thing, put on one side of a record and that's enough for me for a while.

Here is something I've never seen before. I put one of the albums I just got, Fushigi (the black and orange one), side A is a standard pressed record, I flipped it over to B and discovered a picture disc. I have never seen an LP like that. Kind of bummed as side B has a ton of surface noise due to it being a picture disc. Oh well, I could have researched this on discogs but I didn't know it was a thing so I never looked for it.

Took me quite a while to pick this one up, but glad to finally have it. What's with MOV using an outer (PVC?) sleeve? I've not seen that on any of their other non-OST releases.

Great timing though, my turntable is out of commission for the next 3 weeks.

No brochures this time but I did get this Eraserhead foldout I am going to get framed. It came together with a more recent flyer

@spun

I don't know Laurie Spiegel (don't shoot me) but that is an excellent price for a triple set.
And those Klaus Schutze records I always wanted to get but I don't think I will ever end up buying them simply because there are so many other records I also want.

A couple of beauts that dropped through the letter box.

Thanks @texas for the Horrorshow!! Very happy to add this to my growing Osamu collection :D

The other record is a great little 70's OST with some Italian tones and some great laid-back jazzy funky 70's OST sounds. Very pleasantly surprised.

C'est geniale!

I'm top thrilled to add this to my Serge collection - all six episodes onto LP (there were 4x different colours pressed) of his 60s space-age mod toon featuring the exploits of 'Barbarella's little sister'... I had no idea that this awesome unofficial release existed until recently, luckily scored one from CD and LP for the original value. I love the show and SGs music is typically fantastic.

Echoing Bez's sentiments here.

Dollar, Two In The Amsterdam Rain is a killer score from the little I've heard. If you ever rip that, send up a smoke signal, please.

ScoJ, That Gainsbourg has my head spinning. I was ignorant to both the music and its subject. That will have to be remedied.

May well do that Mateo, but I need to get a new stylus first. I will have a few other bits to rip also.

Surprised to find a random record shop in Waco TX. All crap, all way way overpriced. Then I found a VG+ original Prestige of Miles Cookin' for $40. These days that's a steal in this condition, probably best find in the wild in some time. Not supposed to buy anything but had to make an exception for this one.
