Hopefully at some point I will get a 132. I am at the point where I'm ready to sell almost everything and narrow my collection to library and special pieces. I have shelves and shelves of Waxwork, Mondo, various indie/modern stuff and I just don't care about most of it anymore.

Do you have the Quadrigas? I didn't know about them until maybe a year ago and finally hearing them all. I wish I knew more about these guys or who plays on the records. They are dynamic and the arrangements are creative, melodic, layered, some of the best non-italian library I've ever heard. Q3 has a track that is every bit as heavy as under Pompelmo, but there is real diversity of sound. I can't oversell these.

ehh but I don't need three copies of Unsolved Mysteries, and the box set for Street Fighter or some shit. Or fifty different italians do it better records. So I will keep my Di Melo but maybe I don't need the complete DJ Vadim catalog!! Keep James Brown Payback and Hell but sell the twenty marginal records of his I have and don't ever listen to. If it lacks purpose or musicality it's gonna go bye bye. No real reason I have something like five versions if Halloween or four versions of Phantasm.

To think the very first time I heard this record I thought it was a two tracker and the rest was disco cheese. But it's definitely one of those that keeps reeling you in a little more every time as you hear subtleties in the arrangements, that nice compressed crunch of the high hat, and how well the guys are grooving on tracks like the 2nd half of 'Make Up'.

i have a spare of Erbe with a small pressing defect that could be fixed if you are interested. needle is locked in one groove.

also, thanks for your Cocktail Bar props but please do not look too close. the condition of the cover is not as it seems, lol!

Listening to Lo Sport tonight. I am pretty sure I never listened to this properly. When the Sonor reissue first came out, I heard the tracks with the race track noise in the background on the A side, I needle dropped a couple of easy cheese numbers and the ragtime ditty on side B, and I shelved it. That was a mistake, there are some worthwhile tracks here. Particularly the Ducros disc 2 which I don't think I listened to at all until now and has some especially high quality tracks with beauty beyond the drum breaks

i think Lo Sport is a great record! kind of reminds me of short-but-bangin-shots records like:

André Ceccarelli's Rythmes on Music De Wolfe
Klaus Weiss' Time Signals on Selected Sound
Peter Thomas' Sound Music Album 5 (and others) on Golden Ring
... (add on!)

some people may think these short cues are annoying but i enjoy them.

apparently someone got quite lucky in 2017 with grabbing a OG for 37,37€ (see discogs). that record goes for hundreds of dollars nowadays!

Listening to Telefilm N.2 tonight as a last spin. This is my favorite out of the three Telefilm. Sorgini's name is on it, but I hear Alessandroni especially tracks like "Christine" and think there's a 99% chance he wrote at least those two and probably plays guitar on the whole thing.

Telefilm N.2 is the only keeper IMO! and your Alessandroni guess is quite sophisticated and the chance is even 99.99%. as he was involved in N.3 as composer (and obviously as instrumentalist) i would assume he had his hands on N.2 as well...

I just can't shake this series. I think the magic is in the production or mic setup for the drums. I can't tell if they've overdubbed, if they had a unique stereo or layered mic setup, or if there might even be two kits. With headphones on the drums pan across channels and the whole thing just really hits. And whoever is drumming plays with a lot of energy and stays like a microsecond in front of the pocket & it really keeps the feel of these tracks pulling forward.

I squarely settled on "2" as my favorite, but they are all really incredible records.

these are really fascinating and quite some people seem to talk about them right now. have been asked several times over the past few weeks. really love these two beauties. the cover art is really minimalistic and it is interesting to see how these labels (Iller, Pegaso, Fama, Jubal,...) went from super fancy cover art to plain white sleeves around 1973. anyway...don't judge a book by it's cover. really hard to describe the music, you get tribal ambient, mental psychedelia and even some unfunky jazz funkyness. these are super good! in fact so good, that one of them made it into James Pianta's top 10 of obscure italians. still miss one from this list... :(

love Sensazioni N.1. such a lovely weird/psychedelic jewel! another fascinating record. straight plastic cocaine to my brain...have seen a handful of copies but most came without cover. somebody must have kept the dope cover and thrown the record away, haha!
