@monsterworship I came across an article a week or two ago about it, and it stated try we're releasing both CD and vinyl. Shouldn't be too much longer!

So will there be two vinyl versions then? US and EU? Copies are definitely available in the UK right now.

Nice album, btw. Sounds almost identical to most of their other stuff, but hey, that's no bad thing!

I just wanted to resurrect this thread cos I'm about to pull the trigger on a copy of 'Piano Nights'. Any of you guys got a copy yet?

I'd be interested to hear if you've any problems? I've read a couple of reports of surface noise and distortion. Obviously, I'll pass if it turns out the whole run was badly done. Cheers in advance!

I read a bunch of the same reports as well. I ended up going with the CD, as it was available and the LP wasn't even around yet in the US (or at least I didn't see it without the price being quite high). It's a great album, so no matter what, you should get it in some format.

I actually ordered a copy this morning from amazon UK. We shall see if the quality is bad or not. I'm excited to own it!

Gostfires turned me on to these cats (and Swod and Dale Cooper) last Autumn. Damn if they aren't grand. People, however, are really proud if their vinyl. It is quite expensive.

Wow. Only just happened across this thread, these guys are absolutely fantastic.
It's giving me that feeling I got when I first heard Earth, there's something about a rhodes (?) being played incredibly slowly.

Unfortunately, there is no vinyl, but Bohren fans should check out Ether Orchestra's "All Your Brave Junkie Tomorrows." You can download it at http://www.rest30.com/wordpress/ether-orchestra/. The site also lists a MySpace page to purchase the CD, but I don't know if it's active anymore.

On the recommendation of a friend (during a conversation about tracking down hard-to-find vinyl, specifically one of his own records!), I listened to Black Earth this evening for the first time.

It's one of those things where you have certain expectations of the music from the artist name, the album title and the tracklist, and then have them utterly smashed as soon as you listen to it. I now utterly love this.
As someone said on the previous page, Heroin & Your Veins is a close thingy to this, and I guess I'd add Akira Yamaoka to this with his Silent Hill soundtracks, particularly the more ambient 2 and 3.

Their second newest album, Dolores, has just been repressed - you should grab it while you can. It's pretty cheap at the mo.

I'm not sure why they would repress Dolores. I don't mean that negatively, as it was a beautiful album and one of my most favorite records...but it took forever to sell out, and even then you could typically find copies for sale on discogs, ebay, a few distributor sites, etc. Black Earth would be in far more demand I would think as a repress...I mean look at the prices it goes for on discogs.

Glad you enjoyed the album though Si! You shoulda just listened to our suggestion in the first place!

Dear friends of uneventful music, dear customers,

we, BOHREN & DER CLUB OF GORE, want to announce, that we don`t have anything to do with the vinyl-releases of GORE MOTEL and MIDNIGHT RADIO.

These two albums are released without prior agreement of the band and we do not profit from the sales.

Yeah I saw that note too. Did you see the prices the label is selling those two bootlegs for?! 66 euros I believe. Pretty damn expensive for bootlegs.

Hey, I do listen to everyone's recommendations - I just take a long time getting round to them all :)

Seriuously though, I had a bit of a wobble the other month where I just stopped listening to pretty much everything. Of course, all the pre-orders still rolled in so I have a HUGE to-do pile at the mo!

Damn, those bootleggers! That must be really frustrating for the band. At the same time, they should've been more astute when selling their rights in the first place. I mean, why sell vinyl rights to a label that has no intention of releasing it on that format. That's just asking for trouble.

I'd imagine it much the same situation with Black Earth. We can probably expect a boot of that soonish then...
