Very rarely do I come across a bundle that I want and need all items. Three Waxworks releases that, for wahtever reason, I had failed to add to my collection. Came across this bundle for $70 and free shipping. I couldn't say no.

That message from space was better than I thought it would be, one of the Columbia CQ series, along with Drac, Triton, Cockpit and others. I'm almost in a completist state of mind with some of these anime catalogue number runs. Really happy to grab the King releases up top too, Sabu and Itchi, Sasume and Kamui.

It's really good inks. It bares similarities with wicked city, lots of deathly stabbing synths and some insane drum programming plus some chiptune like synthwork giving it a castlevania vibe at times. Also one of the tracks is called "scratch my breast" :D
I may try and rip it at the weekend.

That "The Cockpit" LP is also by Osamu, before he went full synth. It's 2/3 drama 1/3 music but the music is surprisingly good, funky sounding and some cool electronic touches.

Ok it has been on my want list for 6 years LOL. But I forgot about it. Listening to the tracks, crazy good for sure. Real expensive I doubt I will ever get one of these, I would totally spend the $$ on some Italian shenanigans first

@static wish I was sitting on gold coins :) I miss out on a lot of other releases that get added to the want list, while I'm stuck in this japanese vinyl rabbit hole, still I'm a happy rabbit. There are some pricey LP's in that haul but also a bunch of cheap pick ups.

I went to new york, around March 21st, and I had time to check only a few stores. Went to Generations, was disappointed with the used stuff. My girlfriend was looking for post punk, new wave, goth stuff and was disappointed too. We went to A1 records. lots o used soul and funk...not much soundtracks, I was disappointed again. BUT I did find this 2000 pressing of Dawn of the Dead from dagored. it was an odd find in a store that doesn't seem to carry much of that stuff. then went to Rough Trade, They don't have much used stuff. Feels like a place for people who want new releases but not really a place for digging.

I did buy some new releases. got Tiger Labs' Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust when I was at Generation, and at rough trade I picked up Art Ensemble of Chicago's Free Jazz record "Tutankhamun'' and, because I saw it here on STBC, Haruomi Hosono, Shigeru Suzuki & Tatsuro Yamashita's ''Pacific''.



So, I got the 2000 dagored, 2010 AMS and 2018 Waxwork releases from DotD. I guess I should keep an eye out for a Japanese pressing and do a comparison at some point. maybe find an OG too.

Nice pick up's @nathan that Pacific release is awesome. If you are interested Victory just put out another Hosono boot of The Aegean Sea, which I feel if you like Pacific should be right up your ally. I grabbed a copy from Juno Records, it was $16 and shipping was $5 from UK to US (I have no idea how they are doing this at such a cheap price) so total it was less than buying the record stateside. I'll be doing the same later in the week for the new Akiko Yano release Japanese Girl, Juno has it for $24 plus $5 shipping which is $7 cheaper than I can get it anywhere in the US.
