have updated the Longest Library Compositions list on discogs since i found some new titles. this is a super stupid thing but just in case somebody cares...peep over here

also...just have realized that a copy of the beautiful Mare Romantico OG sold for 800€ in january and it is not even on the "most expensive items sold in january" list, which is unbelievable! still surprised to see this popping up because these are crazy rare...

The last track "La Gang" slaps as hard as any library track. I wish I had more of these Fly, especially Cross Way, Traffico and Droga. @million let me know if you see any pop up... Been a couple years since I added any new Fly stuff

@tex: that Thrilling is an OK record but it's the same as with La Pace. quite inconsistent unfortunately. Looking Around and Mondo Operario are the ones, that i revisit the most. the real must haves IMO. maybe Crossway, too.

will let you know once i spot Traffico and Crossway but people ask for four digit sums nowadays. one famous seller told me he sold Droga for 2500€ at a fair to one of those psych dudes. just insane.

I like four tracks on this one, Judith, I Laghi, Crepuscolo and Leggerissimo. It's kind of funny they glued Tamponi's name to the back after the fact.

This record is crazy good, reminds me of Alessandroni Industrial, in terms of it being a careers worth of ideas on one album (who here said that?)

some of those sign/Publispei records are quite amazing @Tex. this series is a real mystery to me. it has surfaced so late! wonder where this got lost. love the design of the sleeves! for me it is the perfect showcase of the great Antonio Ricardo Luciani. it shows that he was mastering every aspect of music. every classic library genre is being represented in this series. from jazz to classical/pastoral to mad electronics and outlandish experiments, you get it all...

Is it really that good? Someone tried to sell me one a few years ago for 200 euro! I thought it might be crappy and definitely too much money. But never heard it before.

You need to sell me your Cross-Way... For now I listen to this Fly compilation which has six of the tracks from Cross-Way as well as tracks from Eruzioni, Thrilling, La Cotta N1 and N2. Definitely a comp worth tracking down!

You mentioned La Pace being similar to Thrilling in which case I need that one for sure.

@million That 'Aspetti sociali' record would fit perfectly into a list of society / civil unrest / global problems libraries. I'm surprised you haven't got sth like that in your portfolio of lists already. One of the most reliably interesting categories, I think, and the more interesting neighbour to the war library niche.

@thewaystation: i have something similar in the making for a while but this is really not a clear topic so i struggle whether to add some releases or not. you have stuff like pollution, mental disseases, traffic (mostly chaotic, LOL), poverty...and somehow this topic merges into the war genre. will come up with a list but that one will be a bit blurry for sure...

meanwhile...peep my straightforward big ass wave on cover list that i started to expand from the library category.

Happy to have this in the collection after surviving a bloody eBay war. I'd really like to find #7 in this series. So far I only have this one and Camera-Car. This one is quite good, nicely nuanced tension themes. In really great shape too.

Thanks for the postmanpot I had to jump on Lipstick. Chased it a good while, not happy to spend that much but doubtful I'd ever find a better price. Hell of a record. Favorite track at the moment is Effuse, chill vibes, perfect score for your next porn production.

Which ones don't you like? They do go to the effort of sourcing master tape and licensing when possible. Perhaps they have done straight vinyl rips before.

I've been completely put off why they boost the sound levels, as shown in releases as Il Mare and Puccio Roelens - La musica puccio roelens. The quality of the presses is ok and I like when they use the master tapes and licensing, so tops to that. Though the main point why I don't support them is when they boost "loudness". I was so dissapointed when Il Mare was quite unlistenable :(

Hmm, I have the og of Puccio but not that reissue. Il mare I only listened once maybe need to check it again.



Got this for a song. A side is all bright horns, doesn’t sound like an Italian library. B is better, lighter side/easy breezy but chill, jazzy charts, pleasant. I mostly got it for the great cover.

@Tex: seriously good cover for a seriously average record :( but in case you are a Metropole completist, there's no way to leave this one behind...

about Sonor...i agree with you @Steve! they boost the levels quite heavily. i have noticed this myself. they do not become unlistenable so don't get me wrong! if you use these records for DJing, they might be the better pick, even if you have the OG's. if you are the sophisticated home listener, you might recognize a difference between them and the OG's for sure.

anyway...it is good to see Trip Around The World being reissued as it became really tough to find nowadays. last copy sold for $500 or something like that...
