Record fair bargains, including one I'm pretty damn excite about:

Disco synth version of Goldsmith's Nostromo theme! Been looking for this a while...

(Ps loving the new drag-and-drop pic facility! :)

My big IDIB order from last week arrived today.
I also got the four posters and two postcards, but also got two CDs of Johnny Jewel film scores as well as that little note signed by Johnny himself that’s pictured. That was a nice touch.

I’ve sampled about half of these tonight and man these pressings are terrific. Dead quiet, almost no surface noise at all.

I also actually picked these up a few weeks ago for a screeeeeaming deal.

ED was supposedly VG+ but I took it and had it ultrasonically cleaned and that vinyl is NM now. Dead quiet.

The Shining was on Discogs, also for a song, listed as being VG but in the description, they wrote “vinyl looks unplaye so I took a chance and both the vinyl and the jacket are NM.

cannot believe how lucky I got with these two.

My local record store has an ultra sonic record cleaner. I’m not sure what the process is exactly, haha. I just know that I bring em in, they put them in the machine, they come back playing almost flawlessly.

I have a VS Halloween from my childhood that looked beat to hell and I can’t believe how quiet it played after a nice cleaning.

I don’t clean all of my records like that, but as I get them and listen to them, any of them that are overly noisy, I usually take in and have cleaned and it seems to solve the problem (unless it’s just a bad pressing, but I can usually tell that it’s a pressing issue before I take it in).

inksb wrote: Wed Mar 06, 2019 7:34 pm That's pretty awesome. What is the cost per record cleaning?
it’s $3 per record. Not too bad. I tend to only clean the older records, but once in a while, a new one needs it.
I have a few LP's I would definitely pay $3 to have cleaned. I have three shops near me (45-60 mins away), one of them definitely cleans their used LPs and you can have them clean yours but it's just with an Okki Nokki, never asked how much it was to have them clean my records, I may ask next time I'm in there and try a few out. The one shop is super tiny and definitely don't clean stuff. And the other one should definitely clean their records and they say they do but I've bought quite a bit from them and almost all of their used stuff is dirty.

Well said on all fronts.

Blamo!

Just a random guy decided to drop by the local record store and unload original Umiliani's, weird. My first original Liuto pressing, who would know I had one! It's amazing. I have never seen these before.

How come the websites outlook has changed? Am I missing something?

Nice one SP! Nothing like being in the right Umiliani place at the right Umiliani time ;)

As for the Spin look- go to yr Control Panel > Board Preferences > change the style to FLATBOOTS and presto chango!

Not to be a tease... but soon I'll be able to share something with you guys that's unique, personal, very cool (if I may say so) and not strictly legal.... but really think you'll appreciate it :)
