That's interesting... and pretty baffling. Love that album but it hardly screams prog/psych. It's about the gentlest, most melodious of libraries I can think of, all lightness of touch and melody and pure-70s tv background cues. I guess tis all in the ear of the beholder! (unless it has some particular arcane significance to hardcore proggers for some reason... featured personnel?)

I will be at a show this weekend! Although it tends to be a boring one, they are going to see my $30 albums that I priced for $15 and think "man this is expensive got any dollar records?"

have played this record last night. i consider it a sinister and evil masterpiece and it sounds like a unreleased score of a super bad western flick...this could have been used in Hateful Eight and it would have matched well...almost whole album can be heard over hereand i believe it is on spotify, too. recommended!!

I will have to spin it again. This one has never clicked for me. Thanks for the rec on the Cooper, I have not heard this one. Have ignored this label completely after hearing several that were marginal like Rievocazioni Storiche and Jazz at Meridiana. I do have Elettrogialli on my want list from several years ago, I don't remember why so it is probably something you posted!

Thanks for the rec on the Cooper, I have not heard this one.

it is important to know about this release as it is a contender of the "where the hell is Vol.2 library list"... library records that were so terribly good (or in most cases bad), that they did not deserve a Vol.2...

Lol you and these funny lists! Although who knows, maybe there is volume 2 but no one found a copy yet!

Fortunately this volume 2 exists and is better than volume 1!

Side A is three Morricone + Nicolai orchestrals, first a long piece from The Rover. The second track is a heavy organ piece. The third is a tension piece with violin and choral stress notes. The B side tracks are by Usuelli, Fusco and Grano. They mostly sound old. The track "Inutile Attesa" is interesting and kind if has a low key meandering suspense vibe.

I would say this record is a pass overall. Along with #1 from the series. #2 is quite good.

#4 is the best in the series, with side A filled with top notch psychedelic Morricone. And a really good melancholy Western opens side b.

De Filippi (Luigi, but probably Rino) "Marcabru", and my guess is these are tracks from a couple of different sessions. Tracks like "Gleaming" and "Hermitage" are excellent, I really like the whole record a lot.

Pierpaolo (the man behind Four Flies Records) sent me a full list of the RCA SP 10000 series for sale. don't know where he found it but it was complete from 10001 to something like 10100. i have passed on it since i got my SP s**t together. if anyone needs to fill some gaps, i would suggest to try to get in touch with him even if i assume the list has been kind of cannibalized during the past two months...
