I'll let you know later next week when volumes 1-10 should arrive in the post ;) . I also got Vol 8 and 7 with that copy of 5. I would say they are definitely different but still great, the more I learn about Masaru the more I realise how versatile he was. The one persistent thing seems to be an urge to drop jazzy flourishes in the mix on occasion Vol 5 seems to be more lyrical than the others with more 'songs' rather than scores, or suites. He can be very suspenseful and atmospheric, as well as roll with a swing and groove.

Aside from that Im still very much learning and getting familiar with his work.
Translating some of the titles and researching the film's helps.

Vol 8 repaets several themes from this other Masaru satoh compilation, which I also highly recommend. Particularly if you don't want to chase a 10 LP series
Link here, cheap too.

Look at that beauty. This is one of those albums I put off multiple times and now regret it bc it's sold out and people want way too much for it most of the time.

@inksb, yes it is a nice one. The only copy of The Beyond I have. I do prefer the cover of the Mondo version and would never say no to an OG. But those prices indeed are too much.
@Jimmy: enjoy! Would love to be able to see classics like that on the big screen.

It's totally worth it. It's going around 50ish on discogs which is only about 15 over the original cost. But yeah, it stinks missing out on the original price. It's one of my most prized now because I got it signed by Frizzi.

That's awesome. I never got the DWRC reissue of this but I presume it's the same mastering as the MOND-002? If so, it's pretty darn good to my ears and likely my favorite F&F joint. Though Zombie is a close 2nd.

The DWRC reissue was newly remastered by Enrico De Gemini. It sounds quite good to me.

No kidding. I missed that detail, clearly. Interesting.

Put the cookie down!

Thanks again to my mystery Santa. Flipping loving this. Steel drums, sax, arpegiated 80 synths and drum machines, what more could one ask for.
I was much more excited about this release then Predator, still on the want list though ;P

Finally arrived after sitting in USPS limbo for 10 days. It's been sitting in NYC just hanging out.

Sound quality is OK, nothing amazing. Packaging definitely has a bootleg quality to it, some text is soft, colors are a touch off. But I'm really happy to own this and have it in my collection.

Any one else notice imgur has updated their app on android? It took me a few minutes to figure out how to get the direct link.

My heartfelt thanks must go to the Mighty Mateo who tipped me off super-sharpish when stock of this randomly re-appeared in the WW store, and saved me throwing silly sheckel at it on the after-market (which I was very motivated to do...)

It's Dawn of the Dead, innit? With the extra CD cuts, what's to say? It's great to have on double vinyl and it sounds good, no issues, and the Butcher Billy art works just fine. Very happy to add this to my Goblin shelf :)
