Original movie? It's a blatant Psycho rip-off, a fun movie but not very original :P
I recently received Arrow Video's new bluray of this 90's classic.
It still holds up, it's been close to a decade since I last watched this and I still think it's incredible. Phillip Glass's score is something else.
Followed up Candyman with this strange little slice of cinema. Directed by the guy who did Baskin a few years ago (check that out if you haven't) and while I don't think it's quite as good, it's still very strange. To add to the strange story, the director decided to have the cast speak English, which is not the first language of most of the cast so that makes for certain lines and emotions to come off a little odd. I'm not sure where this is available yet, I rented it from Amazon. Basically the main character has a tragic event happen to her as a child and as an adult a friend who disappeared 2 years prior shows up and is part of a cult. She wants her to come to a big cult event and shit gets weird after that. I'll leave it there, it's a basic story but fun to watch it play out.
