Kitaro - Queen Millennia
The most tangerine dream like anime ost I've heard, includes those Kitaro tracks from manhunter.

Really digging this. Thanks for the recommendation. Found it on discogs for only $9.
Awesome! Glad you are digging it. I haven't forgot sending some anime DLs your way, will have to send you the movie now, I bloody love it. Will do it this weekend.

@inksb
Check the Cheesetastic power ballad vocal for the movie.
If I ever end up lost, wasted, in a karaoke bar, in Tokyo, at 3:00 am, this is gonna be my jam!

But seriously the breakdown and instrumental section in the last quarter slays!

@skeletonbutt

Yes! Hope you dig it too.

There are actually a few really great cues/tracks in the anime that sadly aren't on the record. Would love an expanded reissue but apparently there are a lot of rights issues over the soundtrack, and the anime it seems.

I love it! Can you recommend some other stuff similar in sound and affordability?

Not sure, to my knowledge Kitaro didn't score any other anime but it my be worth checking his output from around the same time or earlier. I haven't yet but have a few peices on my wantlist. I do have this LP by him but I wouldn't say it sounds the same and Imo is overpriced on discogs.

The other things that come to mind are the digital trip records (all synth albums based on anime/TV shows) but often the good ones don't always go cheap. This is one of the best in the series imo

well well well Bez. are we going on a run of chronological Waxwork releases, by catalog number ? you have something like 50 titles to go through.

I wish I had that split colored Rosemary's Baby.

Sexy. I was covetous of that Rosemary's Baby split back in the day. I recently moved some of my rarer WW variants on down the line, but made sure to keep a clear Rosemary's Baby to continue spinning. Such a cool score.

^ Sexy indeed.
I did pay through the nose for that GITD Re-animator and Rosemary's Baby version. That was two years ago when I thought I would be able to keep up with all releases and even all variants. That idea is now long gone. One version will do me. And if I can't get the most limited version, so be it.

Made in Nippon kicks more ass anyway...

Currently, I'm working my way through the seven LPs of the Field Works "Metaphonics" box set. The theme behind it is field recordings manipulated and set to music from a host of contributors, such as Rafael Anton Irisarri, Eluvium, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, and The Album Leaf. You can read about it here. I've listened to the digital files already, and it's quite gorgeous. However, I'm on my third LP, and all of them are warped -- not another to affect the sound but enough to make me write to the label after I go through all of them. This trend of a lack of quality control is frustrating.

Oh my, really enjoying this, and it sounds so clean and crisp! I am loving the standalone listen even more than I expected, and I'm kicking myself for not trying to track down the Japanese CD years ago (easier said than done, but still...). Another well-earned notch on the belt for Tiger Lab.
