i thought i was so lucky when i won the auction for this record recently, with being the only bidder at 9€.

after checking discogs, i recognize that this is NOT sought after.
after listening to the record, i do NOT understand why it isn't...

really sophisticated jazz session from the beloved italian jazz masters Enzo Scoppa and Cicci Santucci among others. the whole record is quality and reminds me of early Blue Note, Kudu or CTI. totally underrated! if you are into good jazz, break down your prejudices about late 80s library and get yourself a copy!

Interesting, probably more historical piece. It has Morricone's first Western track for Duello Nel Texas and some other early spaghetti Western stuff, early to mid 60s. Several of the tracks sound old. The cover is a plain jacket and the front and back labels look like they were done with a typewriter or something on regular paper. And then cut and glued on. The cover is black instead of blue like the other couple cam 10" I have seen. I don't think they stuck with 10" very long, but I don't know very much about cam.

the almost mythical Aquarium Sounds record from the RCA SP 10000 series tricked me more than twice. always thought that this is the ultimate underwater library but it does not sound bubbly at all. i would rather call it the ultimate lounge record with that extra funky cheese flavour.

what were they thinking by doing this record? what was the purpose of it? how in the hell they came up with that funny title? why does that font look so fresh and charming? why is it so underrated? too many questions...

Just listened to a few of the songs over on discogs and I wouldn't have pegged this for an underwater LP without the bold title. That said, I liked it. A lot.

this is Geoff Bastow's masterpiece. you have to trust me!! seriously good record. all solid tunes with no filler. musically i would compare this album to the first Experience record by the Ball Bearing Group. those fuzzy guitars and flutes drive me crazy.

the album title - Music To Varnish Owls By - is truly in a class of its own. for me it could also go by the title Music To Spark Owls By as it would suit the music much better.

the seagull (or albatross?) has landed at last! really happy that i was able to work out a fantastic deal and can finally cross this essential Leonardi piece off the list.

so much magic in the music! Evil's Suite is a class of it's own but i think the whole record sounds absolutely disctinctive and spooky in a very onw way. for me a hidden masterpiece that people do not pay enough attention to and one more potential record for reissue labels like Intervallo...

some flowers for me today! (and it's not my birthday...even if it could be...). these are the only three library records (that i know of), where each tune is named after a flower (or plant). all of them are so much fun and i love the idea behind this, even if i don't understand it. what were these made for? a funky plant fertilizer TV commercial?

now i realized that this Titian record was not published digitally with the recent Leonardi flood. really do not understand why? anyway...just i submitted it to the discogs database.

this record sounds spooky, jazzy and even a bit funky in a experimental way. kind of reminds me of the Record For Murder which might be from the same period. as for most (if not all) Titian records, the composer Gabriele Ducros used a pseudonym. cover art by the creative Anna Leonardi looks lovely and is suitable for this kind of music...

Owning all five pressings...

@deaf: literally a lot of Feelings that i have right now...finally was able to complete my Mint condition early pressings collection of something that i consider one of the best albums ever made. now i have to find a Conroy pressing without the sticker. otherwise life does't make sense anymore, haha!
