Gave both the evil dead rescore and waxworks IT release spins today, that evil dead pressing is noisssssssy, some real bad surface noise on side b, the second disc was fine, and side a was fine, but there were a few moments on the louder tracks of side b that really made me pause. I think there’s some distortion in the track itself anyway so it’s a little bit more accentuated, otherwise great record. First time I’ve ever really had a sound issue with mondo, but I’ve been lucky so far so it was bound to happen, I’ll give it a good clean and hopefully that should clear things up a bit.

IT on the other hand, wow, clean as a whistle. I’m super familiar with that scorenin isolation and the range they got out of this pressing is a feast for the ears, easily top 5 releases from them.

Time to let Old Painless out of the bag.

What's the verdict on the green vinyl? Hope the listen was painless as well.

@Hatter - Bummer to hear about The Evil Dead. I will have to crack my copy open here soon. I'll let you know if I have any similar experiences.

@Deaf - The green is pleasantly quiet. I'm impressed. Maybe I'll buy Commando after all.

I'm definitely curious about this Soderbergh 'choose your own adventure' show, and anything Holmes does with SS is usually straight up badass, so I'll probably jump on this. How's it sound?

I like it -- it's a little sultry, a little low-key, a little sinister. While not necessarily sounding like Badalamenti/Twin Peaks, it has a Badalamenti vibe to it.

I was actually just noticing this more and more recently. All the Waxworks releases I've gotten, regardless of color have been really good quiet pressings and the Mondo releases have been really noisy. God of War was REALLY bad, and I recall my Fountain Splatter and a few others being the same. I know to expect some extra noise, but I'm finding the Deathwaltz/Mondo releases to be moreso
