^^ Nice one, Bez. There seem to be pretty mixed feelings about it, I went in with rather low expectations when I saw it for the first time some months ago - really enjoyed the atmosphere, and Michael Ironside is terrific.

One of my favorite comments from him was when he was making highlander 2, a movie that really deserves its own lenngthier thread but one that I can’t help but enjoy on some level. He read the script and was basically like “this is terrible, but I’m already committed so I’m going to be the most outrageous thing in it”

The movie gives him a run for his money on that count, but he manages to turn in a truly fun and enjoyable performance in what is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular train wrecks of a movie ever made.

It's the only way the film makes any sense as a stand alone piece! Even if, in so doing, it demolishes the logic of what comes before and after it in the series.

I wish I had some friends who would do that with me. Most of my friends I have a hard enough time getting to go have dinner let alone come over a movie night.

I haven't seen any of the Highlander movies since the mid 90's. I should revisit at least 1 & 2.

Any one want to tell me why this film is 2 hours and 10 minutes long? Man it was tough to get through, the whole plane hostage scene was 30 minutes long and you don't see any of your main cast during that section. So strange. This is one of my least favorite Chuck Norris films.

Because Golan directed it himself! If it was anyone else, it'd be 85 minutes. Too bad Cobra got chopped down to less than 90 minutes, apparently there's a workprint that's 2+ hours.

Cloak & Dagger has eluded me for years, I'm still waiting for a good bluray before I watch it.



The Endless was really quite good. I had heard great things last year during the festival run but once the bluray was released I started reading a lot more mixed reviews which made me a little worried. The directors played the main roles and did a pretty good job as I think this was their first as leads. I loved the concept, the tie-ins to their previous films and the cinematography. If you like sci-fi cultish films check it out.

Good times. Sold-out crowd reacted with plenty of laughs and cheers, and some of the corniest lines got the biggest responses. I think it was a first viewing for a few in the audience, as Linnea's lipstick trick got quite a few "wtf!"s. She was a total sweetheart, btw. She said she doesn't watch her own screenings though, haha (@ScoJo). She said she brought all 10 (ten!?) of her dogs with to Portland for the visit and had them all backstage. She said her favorite film to work on was Return of the Living Dead , which I should watch again soon. She said she improvised her dance scene in that one...

Truly, not surprising. She's incredibly 'free' with her sans-clothing policy, and male director's take full advantage- in RotLD tombstone strip/dance, you can see what she had for breakfast!

Glad to hear this was a fun time, @deaf. That film is quite notable for every character being a totally unsympathetic shitwad. I mean, whats with the trend in 80s horror with snot-faced little pervs leaping out at their naked sister in the shower?? (See also Funhouse...) And the big fella is a fucking mega-douche ;)

The 'lipstick' scene is a legit eyebrow-raiser!

This Sunday was the first day in 2 months where I've had nothing to do except to dinner with some friends. I took full advantage of that.


Much better than I anticipated, Franco can be a fantastic actor if he believes in what he's making. I've never watched The Room and really won't as I don't like watching films to make fun of them. I feel like I got enough of it from here to understand why it has the status it has.


This one is so dumb and fun. It's cheesy schlock and I love it. The practical effects are really good for the low budget and quality of film. The new bluray is so much better that it has any right to be.


Mesmerizing. I'm familiar with the score but have put off watching the film for years, even though I own it. I don't really have a reason other than my wife watched it with out me and we were supposed to watch it together, so waited until she was ready to watch it again. I can't wait for Mandy.
