Most of the AMS stuff I've recently gotten has been good. I noticed some "swooshing" on the Roller vinyl I got yesterday from LITA, but the Deep Red vinyl was very quiet, as are Suspiria and Contamination. I didn't plan on getting Buio Omega since there were several tracks from it on Contamination, and the others didn't sound all that exciting, kinda glad I didn't get it now.

Actually on another play through the Buio is sounding better, less noisy. Maybe it just needs to be worked in. Main problem is the songs are super quiet.

Oh man I love Buio Omega so much. It was one of the first Italian horror films I saw as a kid and it just opened up my world. I love the score, but I'm sure I have more of an emotional attachment to it than others do. My copy doesn't have any issues. I have the clear one though. Do you guys hear issues with the standard black?

I have standard black version of Buio Omega on AMS , no sound issues here sounds a good one, I also love this album but have just got a copy of Amo Non Amo and think I may like this one even a little bit more.

I have the standard black too. At first I remember it being really scratchy sounding, but it seems to have improved a bit over time. I really hope AMS continues to branch off from the Goblin stuff (even though I'm pumped to finally get Amo Non Amo). The recent Morricone and Umiliani reissues were killer. Better yet, I wish Easy Tempo and Dagored would just repress a bunch of their now extremely pricey back catalogs. I missed too many and keep having to luck out in the used bins.

The morbid atmosphere of Buio Omega (the movie) is unparelleled! I grew up with this movie, me and my friends, we watched often on vhs (no banned stuff here, luckily!). Ah, good ol'times...
I've listened just today to check the vinyl but I heard no issues (I have a clear copy). AMS will surely release other gems this year!

P.S. Amo Non Amo is beautiful, I grabbed also the regular gatefold edition, the whole cover+gatefold is printed glossy!

I have it on vhs too. You're right about the atmosphere, it's so perfectly miserable. And I love Iris!! It's funny to think of this as a childhood classic. Haha.

My black vinyl ‘Buio omega’ plays really great. I never listened to my clear and pink copies of the LP

Has anyone else had any problems with "Amo non amo" (the expensive limited edition)?

A3 has some sort of scratch (not visible on the colored vinyl) that is very audible on most of the track.

B1 sounds very bad with some sort of distortion on most of the track and is practically unlistenable.

Mine is good sound quality (at least considering the type of pressing).

With these fancy splatter and haze presings half the time it's not a scratch but some gunk from pressing in the groove. Maybe try a good cleaning?

@Rasmus: I've listened that record so many times but I haven't noticed any major issue... the only issue is that it isn't remastered and there's a little difference between the two sides, in my opinion the B side sounds better but it's almost audible. I think that your copy have some scratches (really hard to see with this colour way...)

I've used the usual anti static brushes a number of times. I'm not sure how else to clean them...

I don't. I should probably get one. I bought one of the semi-sophisticated ones that you spin, but the labels kept getting wet so it's now in the basement...

I have the one in the pic and it is really useful, it evaporates in few seconds and it is easy to use. It's also a cheap solution.

@rasmus - I have the same lp and I've only spun it a few times but don't remember it sounding bad in any places.

Maybe they'll change it for you?

@max - I normally just use the old fashioned soap and water approach, are those cleaners any good?

@tony: this kind of cleaners are useful basically as antistatic, anyway they clean enough (on new records are perfect). If you have a lot of dirt on second hand vinyl, I think that the good old methods are better!

‘Amo non amo’
Many of you have bought the limited edition but in my opinion the best looking and sounding is the regular one.
The idea of this album was mine and even if the final result does not reflect at 100% my concept ((I asked for a remaster of the tracks on Side 1, I had in mind a different cover with matching colored vinyl, I would have included an insert with liner notes and photos in the 'art' edition) however is a great improvement compared to the Cinevox edition.
