Hmmmm, I may order that as I missed Mondo's run of the original and Part 2 & 3 just feel lonely in my collection.

Great info as usual, Gibbsy. Thank you. I wonder if Mondo will be repressing their version of Halloween with the dialogue and if the FYE represents a "music only" version.

No note on what label, but it's on white vinyl exclusive to them. And surprisingly, only $25.

Turns out it's a new variant of the Sacred Bones single that came out in 2016. Makes no sense because they still have an exclusive orange variant up on their site.

Thanks for cracking the code, Bub! I have one of those already so it's an easy pass. And, at $25, it's nice to know that FYE's exorbitant "exclusive" pricing structure remains intact. Crisis averted.

I really want it to be good, but I have low expectations. The timeline of the movie has already been split twice, then a remake and sequel. And now we have a sequel to just the first film, which splits the timeline a 3rd time.

Well that's disappointing but not surprising...

I may be weird in this thought process but it won't take much to make this one decent. I only love part 1 & 3. 3 obviously has nothing to do with the series and I love it for it's own reasons. Part one is a classic that really can't be touched. I probably need to revisit part 4 as I haven't seen it in over 15 years but I've watched all of the others over the last few years and I don't really care for any of them. In fact I prefer part of Rob Zombie's part 1 and most of the DC of part 2 to any film post part 3 (excluding 4 because I can't really speak to it). Rob's version are not great but at least I enjoy parts of them to 5 and on wards. The people behind this new Halloween really do love the source material, the films producer Ryan Turek is a huge fan, this was a dream project for him and while David Gordon Green may seem like a weird choice for a director he is very talented and Danny McBride is a great writer, even though he's known for his comedic roles his dramatic roles are great. I'm quite optimistic that this will be one of the better Halloween films, it won't top the first but as long as it falls in the upper echelon of the franchise I'll be fine with that.

Sorry for the non soundtrack diversion, back to the Halloween OST. Glad we know what that is on FYE, a big pass for me but Spencer's comments have me excited.

Y'all have no doubt IMDB'd this and clocked that The Horror Master is, indeed, providing the score right??

Huge happy hat round here. HUGE.

Oh and I liked the trailer. Yes, looks like a heavy dose of Pt 4 and hitting lotsa beats from the immortal classic...and I think I'm fine with that. Personally loving the bordering-surreal stylisation of the asylum/JL front and centre as an ass kicker confronting MM head on.

Halloween movie that doesn't look bogus, mother scratchers!!!

Dark synth album ‘Suzy Went Missing’ by Collins debuts on cassette

Don’t go in the house… unless it’s to get to a tape deck!

Limited to 150 cassettes split between pink or black shells, Spun Out Of Control presents the debut physical release of ‘Suzy Went Missing’ by synth artist ‘Collins’ (aka Gary Collins). An album of cinematic dark synth compositions that seamlessly drifts from sinister atmospherics to pulsating dance floor destroyers, that could perfectly soundtrack a film by Nicolas Winding Refn, this is sure to delight those seeking new music that constantly thrills and surprises.

Specially commissioned cover and inlay artwork by label regular Eric Adrian Lee inspired the choice of tape colours. Download card supplied with all retail copies.

Gary Collins on ‘Suzy Went Missing’:

“The vocal sample ‘I could hear them calling, the voices of the dead’, found on the opening track, set in motion the inspiration for this album. Could I process this monologue and make it sound like a voice from the ‘other side’? A missing daughter, sister, girlfriend calling out, or sending a message to loved ones still in the realm of the living?

Over a period of two years I wrote a collection of tracks. I tried to bring an aggressive and claustrophobic feel to the music, whilst using the ‘voice of the dead’ to bind the whole piece together.

With this album I wanted to continue my exploration of the dark side of human nature found on my previous releases: the fear of being along and the depths to which certain types of personality, certain types of people, can reach in order to avoid the feelings of alienation and loneliness.

Violent beings, lacking in empathy, flawed product of their nature and nature. Seemingly normal people who walk amongst us everyday, hidden beneath a veil of apparent humanity.”

It's a weird choice of title to re-release, since Mondo made a repress of this in 2014, and it's still not too expensive to find either their pressing, or a different edition in stores. It's a good score though, so anyone who got into soundtrack collecting only recently might want to go with this edition, I don't know.
