Loving this Goblin 12" and the Gary Pullin book. The book is actually really great, highly recommended.
Agreed, I also received this package yesterday. Excellent hardcover book with lovely full-page printed artwork. It looks to be a very comprehensive collection of Ghoulish Gary's work, and also features a lot of his work for Mondo and Waxwork Records. Also, the Goblin live in Austin LP with the big numbers (Suspiria/DotD) was a cool tie-in as it features his original tour poster art on the cover. Solid recordings from that show.

I think Gary mentioned that his entire body of work thus far is in there, i only flipped through my copy last night, but its a great collection.

Has anyone heard any more buzz about the forthcoming DWRC/Mondo Tenebre release? I wonder if it got shelved. At least temporarily.

Haven't heard anything, maybe it was delayed or something.

I'd love to know who really did these spaghetti Western comps. This is just such a deep, well curated series. Of course it says compiled by "Arch Stanton" and "Bill Carson" but those are just Good, Bad & Ugly Easter eggs :)

Tex, I have a lot of love for those comps. A lot. They have been in regular rotation since they started popping up in late 2012.

PS - A little ways back, someone told me who curated Semi-Automatic, but I was sworn to secrecy. Suffice to say it was a deep cut and not who I'd've expected.

They are so good, much more than just the spring and mouth harp hokey stuff. There are some good spaghetti tunes on the recent Trunk "Spotify digs" playlist but still nowhere near as good as these comps.

They are legitimately among the best comps I've ever heard.

I'll echo praise for this set,

I came to them a little late, when 1 and 2 were already very hard to find. (i think 5 had just come out and 3 and 4 were still relatively easy to grab). I left work to go pick up a copy of volume 2 at a record store deep into Brooklyn and they had a copy of vol 1 there as well with little concern for the fact that it was selling on discogs for considerably more that they were asking. I walked away very happy.

Because they are gone. It's pretty much all second hand now. Jimmy Mike has a few of them up for sale at fair rates in the For Sale forum though.

I think someone bought them already. Volumes 3-5 should be fairly easy to track down, 1-2 less so although I think secondhand prices have fallen at least some.

This Komeda is worthy of all the high praise you all have heaped on it. Really lovely vibe..

I saw it about 3 weeks ago and passed on it because I had concerns about the seller being in France. It was a BIN and when it ended I kinda regretted it, especially after listening to it on spotify. Ashamed to say I had never heard it before. It's so good! When it showed up again last week I grabbed it. No regrets. It sounds really good on the secondary system. Can't wait to put it on the main this weekend.

I snagged those mf'ers! Thanks again to @Jimmy_Mike. :)
James Michael is a top of the line unit.

@texasvinyl From my personal rumour mill (which involves no swears to secrecy), Semi-Automatic Records was the work of Alan Bishop of Sun City Girls/Subliminal Frequencies. TBH I am not sure if that's true, but I have personally bought a chunk of spaghetti western OSTs from him IRL and recent saw him with the Sonor guys, so it makes sense to me.

I LOVE all those records, though. For me, those and the Easy Tempo ones changed everything for me years back.
