Do yourselves a huge favour and watch Divorced Dad, now on Vimeo (banned from Youtube!)

From Canadian maniacs Astron-6, who previously bought you The Editor and The Void amongst others.

This is genius level insanity, have been drooling in anticipation since the teaser over a year ago. Does not disappoint.

All the excitement in the Uk is about nerve gas, but I watched Burtons Batman yesterday, and I never noticed before but Joker does get his nerve gas from the CIA, which is what he is cutting up in that famous collage set design scene.

Slightly related but I think Elfman is doing justice league score. Which is cool

Just watched The Foreigner. A bit over the top, but quite enjoyable. The score was instantly recognizable as Cliff Martinez' work and, no surprise, it was really good. Going to track down a copy on wax post haste.

Just watched this awesome bit of sci-fi cheese. One of the exactly 37 films Rutger Hauer and Joan Chen made together in the late 80s/early 90s.

Haven't seen this in years. I'd quite forgotten what a killer title screen it has. Beautiful stuff.

I second that one Hatter & Cult. I can't get enough of those films or the scores that go along with.

Saw a rather dull joaquin Phoenix film called ‘never really here’ yesterday in which the hero goes around dealing with nonces with a hammer. Not much to shout about but the soundtrack was a storming effort. Recommend

Also watched theory of everything like most of the world. Was a treat to hear Johann Johannsson at full power. As hawking says, you need art to understand science and vice versa... I tried reading brief history of time once and I couldn’t manage it

Watched AMUCK! for the first time last night. It was a great film and if you enjoy the beauty of Barbara Bouchet then this is one not to miss. I really enjoyed the soundtrack, I hope some one releases it on vinyl down the road. This film solidified Barbara as my second favorite actress from the 70's right behind Edwige Fenech.

Rewatched Zodiac yesterday and wow, what a monster. Love that film. Love the use of Hurdy Gurdy Man.

Also rewatched The Last Samurai and hated it. Just white savior schlock repurposed for the "mystical Orient". Wonder if it was ever screened in Japan. Can't imagine it was well received at all.

Need to re-watch The Hitcher and Zodiac soon. Thanks for the reminder.
Tonight I am finally alone to catch up with one or two movies. I am thinking Annihilation and a Bronson revenge western...

Sounds like a great plan, Bez.
I watched Annihilation on Monday, and am thinking of watching 'The Ritual' on Netflix tonight.

Let me know how The Ritual was. The description on Netflix is promising.

For me tonight my 15th western of the year. It is not a spaghetti western because UK director. But I am watching it because of all the Charles Bronson talk a couple of weeks ago.

Michael Winner's 1971 Chato's Land.
Score by Jerry Fielding.

This remarkable "Vietnam" western is easily the best of the British produced westerns and gives Charles Bronson a perfect (and nearly silent role) as a half breed who is pursued by a posse of vigilantes. After some of them have raped his wife he turns into a deadly ghostlike avenger in a hostile environment. An environment in which he is forced to live and of which he is a part, but which soon becomes a death trap for the white intruders.

I’m with Hatter on this one - really enjoyed ,The Ritual‘. If you are up for a straightforward don‘t go into the woods film with believable (!) characters, effective atmosphere and visuals, then this is as good as it gets.

How was the Bronson western? Pretty sure I‘ve never seen this before, Michael Winner usually delivers (especially together with Bronson).

The Bronson western was ok. It was no Dead Wish.
But enjoyable nonetheless.
Thanks for the Ritual info. Sounds very promising.
