^ Top pressing of Planet of the Apes, Tim. I always wondered what the Mondo mastering/pressing sounded like in comparison. I see you're possibly starting a Goldsmith run...hhmmm....

Here's a legit GREAT fantasy movie...has ScoJo absolutely bawling by the end, unforgettable performance by John Lone. And the music by Bruce Smeaton is rather swoonsome, kinda John Williams-y in parts (use of pizzicato strings and flute lead esp. brings to mind the likes of E.T.) but mainly it's got a strong classical sound, Mahler particularly (via Herrmann).

I almost got the Mondo release but just couldn't bring myself to do it for just 5 minutes (i think) of additional music. This pressing sounds pretty dang good to me. Maybe a tad flat at time but I think that may be the tapes. I kinda felt the same for the original Project release.

Yea, spinning a few Goldsmith. Gotta runs some errands now but hope to get back to it soon.

All John Lone performances are unforgettable, one of my favorite underrated actors.

Dude, The Last Emperor, my favorite film.

I love him in the shadow, I love that movie in general and wish other people did too haha.

And year of the dragon is terribly underrated as well.

My motor, as the kids say, shit the bed.
Aaannnddd just now my amp appears to have given up the ghost.

While still young, the day had, to this point, been going quite well.

Thanks, boys. I'm going to have a buddy take a look at it and see what's what. Not sure what the next move is if I need to replace it entirely.

I've been fuzz-guitar-jamming along this morning, and it's more fun than a boy should be allowed to have. Though perhaps not the serenade my gal was expecting/hoping for...

I love this album. That said, I'm not sure I ever got past side one. I'm gonna have to listen to this at work now.

@Tim- in full fairness, it IS almost supernaturally impossible to get past Side One!!!

I played it four times straight in a row today, badly fuzz-ing along with my custom Tele ;-) If I didn't have work to do....haha!

@static, Thanks for posting this. I was sitting here feeling bad about missing out when 2HD had it and decided to go check their site just in case. Low and behold, they had more in stock! Picked it up along with the long over due purchase of Halt And Catch Fire.

for anyone else who missed out it's back up on 2HD.

Yay to this ^^

Thank you, the all-important SSOA*

Copies on their way to 2HD as we speak, should be with them in a day or two.
