christmas ahead and still so much work to do. these two always increases my productivity at late night overtime hours. i consider Meccanizzazione De Filippi's best record. a fellow dealer has told me he has sold a NM- copy for 2000 € recently which is absolutely out of this world but kind of explains the quality and rarity of this record. reissue is due...

Yeah it sold for 250 and 299 euro naturally 2000 seems like the sensible asking price. These dealer$ are way out of line sometimes. Also agree in the Cinedelic prices, I saw the email and took a look, some scarce titles but crazy 500, 600 euro prices no thanks....and looks like Marco sold a bunch at those prices too.

I think I'm gonna be in trouble after these library auctions today... Picked up a few good deals, but it all adds up haha. The Fonit 7003 went quite a bit higher than I could do, you don't see that record often. Anyone have a rip of it??

well the market for library records is kind of overheated nowadays, without a doubt. but there is a reason for that! the funny thing is that outside discogs and ebay world much higher prices are being paid actually. i know of insane transactions and was lucky enough to sell some pieces for ultra heavy loot. some dealers claim that 'cogs and the bay is simply not the market for heavyweights. i know collectors who say ebay is for kids and toys. (i am one of them, haha!) most of these collectors don't mess with the internet or social media. some people drop crazy dollars and want to remain anonymous.

also the thing is that records get really scarce nowadays. most stuff is filed away in insane collections and will stay there like forever. the chance to come across a big piece is quite small considering sometimes there are less than 50 copies around.

Braens Machine, for example, does not change hands for less than 2500-3000 € at fairs and private sales while the highest discogs price ever being paid is 1500 €, ebay is 1000 €. i know of a five digit transaction for Psycheground. two copies of Luciani's Jazz In Libertà sold for 1700 and 2000 € last month. Umiliani's La Ragazza Fuoristrada catches 2000 € on a regular. the list goes on and on...

sometimes i wish i could travel back to the 90s with a bag full of money...

@tex: That's very interesting as it appears you and I were both working this set of auctions systematically, but from two different angles. Here's my loot: Themes medicaux, Rievocazioni Storiche 2, Microdramas, Psycorama, and Tical's Cosmo e Musica. For once, I got everything I was bidding on, so I guess business was slower than usual? Did you lose on any of your bids?

@millie: That seller is one half of Sonor Music, if I am not mistaken. Which is probably also why the descriptions have a very familiar, hilarious sound.

@dollarhyde Thanks! It's on CAM, so lacking the specracular cover art, but that's good enough for me. Prior to this ebay listing I had been unaware of the CAM version as it is not on discogs.

Yes! That cover is a good one, I know the CAM version but I didn't realise it wasn't on discogs. I've always loved the names "William gum-boot and Lawrence Whiffin" on par with Sonoton's "Sam Sklair and Gus Galbraith" ;D

I have this one on a similar tip feat. Gum-boot and Whiffin, probably not quite on par with themes medicaux but still a fun listen.

one more from the Music Scene label. this is a very underrated and almost unknown record and people who dig the funky/loungy side of Rocchi and Barigozzi will enjoy this a lot. there is like 2 or 3 cheesy tunes but the rest is pure leisure pleasure music. tunes that make you want to quit your job and travel to an exotic islandfor a 'vacanze'.

could not find much information about it on the internet but a post on the box of toys blog with a soundclip. have added this to the discogs database recently...

this KPM is a really important link between Neil Ardley's great jazz albums from 1970 and 1972 and his only library release. at least i don't know any other ones. don't care much about the B side but the Mediterranean Intrigue compositions on A side is a piece. i mean...a P-I-E-C-E ! a dramatic modern jazz theme suite. highly recommended!

some more Finders Keepers appreciation from myself. absolutely love what they have made out of this unused Lamartine reel. the music is strange but brilliant. minimalsitic analogue heaven. also the notes by Andy Votel are great as usual. the thing i like the most is how they have followed the cover art of the RCA release. check all the details! straight record porn for your eyes...

also recommended is the Lamartine record Mondo Infantile on CAM which should be a children record but is way too experimental for my kids, haha! it reminds me of Umiliani's Mille E Una Sera on Omicron a little. besides my children library list and some other ones Mondo Infantile appears is a list called The Best LPs of 1970-1974. some poeple out there must really love that album even more than i do, haha!

made a new but very short list about library records, where each tune is named after a girls first name. i am sure i have missed one or two but i can't remember which. i was sure some of the big UK labels had girls names libraries. the french Timing N.3 has some girls names, too. others have girls names also. but i have listed the ones that have girls names only...only god (and the composers) know what these dudes did with/to these ladies, haha!
