Okay then...

My Xmas gift to STBC.....

I made this for my GFs 30th birthday, with some help from my friends (as they say).

Multiple instruments by yrs truly, vocals by Kate from local band Kate Goes, recorded by Grandmaster Gareth during a massive snowstorm here in the Midlands - I have the fondest memories of this session for that reason, and working on it with talented friends who gave their time. Lovely strings, multi tracked for maximum Wall-Of-Soundness by Natalie Mason. Sax by the delightful Lucy Baines. Drums by Sam Minnear. All musicians connected with the band Misty's Big Adventure. Only thing I'm not so happy with is the radio announcer middle-8, but it's the best I could do in the time I had - you can tell he ain't a real yank though ;)

Was a last minute addition, a guy I know who works in theatre just happened to have this bit of dialogue from a show he was working on, which fit (in terms of the radio-announcer thing that I wanted, as well as bad-weather-related...) BUT! the actor was from Grimsby! Strong urge to go back and remove every time I listen heh.

It was first played at a party in a big function hall with a hundred guests, and her reaction was...complete confusion! I had to explain it fully the next day. She was pretty blown away ;)

Watching gremlins 2.....it’s been a while since I really paid attention to the script and the background stuff in this movie.....it might actually be a masterpiece, there are some real laugh out loud gags.

Gremlins 2 IS a masterpiece, and I'll be watching both films today!!

Seriously, I don’t think I ever realized how clever that movie is before, just the PA system alone kills me. Also, and this can’t be stressed enough, Christopher Lee poking fun at his usual persona is everything.

Thank god Doug Jones won. I have numerous friends down in the Yellowhammer State and the get out the vote campaign in the Birmingham metro area was massive for this election. When I got home late last night and saw the final vote tally it truly made my week.

Well...watched it last night.

The Last Jedi was enormous fun, only had a couple of weird 'out of place' bits which in no way spoiled my immense enjoyment. I hate to say this (not being a huge fanatic of those silly space operas...) but I did actually get a bit of the 'little kid again' feels....truth!

Just fuckin go see it anyway, give The Mouse all a y'all money.

It was certainly the most unexpected Star Wars movie, I need to sit with it a bit, lots to unpack as far as where they went and what characters did.

I think when the next one comes out it will be easier to sort of see them all in context.
