So here’s some pics of before. Now, it plays nicely but I thought it was game over when I opened it up. Also, my replacement battery contact rig popped off a few times after I’d closed it all up. Many teas were drunk

Max, have to agree with Mateo. Excellent job. I think I wouldn't even have bothered after seeing that interior.

BTW, is there a separte Cogs section going to be created? I do love the idea of that. Although I have a feeling not a lot of other people are really interested.

Ah beocord! We have the 2000, my stepdad bought the whole set but sadly the turntable cartridges are really expensive so it’s gathering dust.. he’s a huge jazz/blues fan and has a excellent record collection... but against my advice and to my horror, he went at the collection with one of those bastard usb turntables you get in Asda. It breaks my heart.

We should have a cogs section! We can then steer people towards good tapes and good tape decks, and maybe provide advice on repairs within reason.

Thanks deaf! I don't think that EP ever had a vinyl release. One of my favorites from them for sure. It's one of those cassettes that has the same program on sides 1&2. One of my favorite bands.

Thanks. The tape deck is a JVC. The Pioneer is sitting on the tape deck that goes with it, but I have a loud low buzz when I turn that deck on. It might have something to do with the earth wire but not sure.

It could be earthing, or maybe a soldering point has come loose. Have to look with a multimeter, it might be that a capacitor has melted...
