Happy Birthday to il Maestro:

I believe this is the Morricone album that have listened to the most in 2017. Beautiful and breezy, with spiraling theme variations by Edda Dell'Orso lulling you away...

@deaf. It's really great typical Morricone with a classical slant for the most part. It has a nice range of moods going on through the score dramatic sensitive moments and some great dark tension in there too.
It also has a few cues utilising the famous musicbox/watch from for a few dollars more but mixed in with the orchestra.

And as for Escalation, what a record! Still need that one, although I do have a bunch of the cuts from it on a CAM library.

Another new one. Presented as a soundtrack, turns out it's not. it's a psych/acid rock thing, I've seen the name of Acid Mothers Temple before but it's the first time I actually listen to something of theirs.

@Dollarhyde-nice Morricone spins so much great music from him it's unbelievable the body of work the man has put out over his lifetime. I really like Eat It a lot and the mastering of the record is top notch. I don't have many Cinedelic pressings and they can be an expensive purchase around this area, but it's worth it to me. I believe I dropped almost $40 for this record from a Minneapolis record store that I frequent.

I really like that score, Static, but must confess I was a bit timid about the source. How's it?

Cleaned the apartment yesterday to a random double bill I’ll call the “ASCAP board of directors mix” Bruce boughtons underrated score to the even more underrated young Sherlock Holmes followed by the incomparable awesomeness of Paul Williams phantom of the paradise. I would love an expanded release of both of them, young Sherlock Holmes had some expanded cd issue yeas who inhave somewhere, but getting the instrumental tracks from POTP would be a dream, especially that climax music. Spencer and Mo have apparently been after it for years so here’s hoping one day. Spencer told Walter and I he’d love to host a screening one day and have Williams do it live.....if travel for that for sure haha.
