There's a reissue of Dark Crystal on purple vinyl that's tempting, but it's like $50 shipped and I just can't abide. Especially when the original has the embossed jacket and awesome poster. I think I got this for like five bucks. Some of these reissue prices are getting out of hand!

the OG is far nicer in my opinion, i didn't even blink at the reissue. the art and poster if you can find a minty copy (which isn't hard) is just a better package on this.

Maybe 6 or 7 years ago, before the OST craze took off, I grabbed about 4 or 5 sealed Dark Crystals for 9 bucks a pop from this record store. It was a placed called Lawrence record shop in Nashville off the main strip. The store only sold sealed vintage records. They had a pretty decent ost section and multiple copies of each soundtrack. I am sure the place has been gutted by now.

I later sold all my copies of Dark Crystal...like a dope not keeping one for myself.

I did find an absolute grail that I had been searching endlessly for...and why would this country song be a grail?
Hint: George C Scott and Porn!

That artwork, on the VHS box, really captured a young Mateo's imagination while he perused the forbidden shelves of the Horror section.

A pretty solid 70s Morricone, a bit all over the place. This RSD re-issue has doubled in cost, managed to grab one at OG price from my friendly neighborhood record fair dude :)

Really not sure about this one yet, may not be quite my cup of Sci-Fi Schlock. Love the sleeve art though, and perhaps it's low-down cheesy porn vibe might grow on me?

@static haha! They would make a much better cujo cover :D

@ScoJo loving that 'les choses de La vie' I've been streaming the digital recently.
and thanks again for NOES really one of the best IMO. The thought of bonus cuts on the box of souls is tormenting my mind and wallet, can't afford it at the mo but thoroughly tempted.

Some belated spins from last week.

To fellow STBC heads picking up Japanese vinyl I cannot recommend 'The Devil comes and blows a flute' enough, really great OST.

One last (short-ish) spin before I head out to my local flea-pit for a screening of Coppola's masterpiece The Conversation!

This is, in every conceivable way, and by every definition of the word, immense. Totally destroys any of the score that's actually in the film, imho...

This was music he wrote for GitS, but was never used/rejected, right?

@ScoJo

I think I need more sarde in my life, that The Tenant clip sounds very nice.

@Mateo

I believe that is the case. I know some tracks on the GITS ost are credited to JJ but don't know of they are also on that album.

His album the other side of midnight is well worth checking too if you dig double exposure. And I can't wait for the new symmetry LP

When I ordered Windswept from IDIB, they threw in a free copy of Double Exposure on vinyl (which has been sold out). Gotta love em.
