Although it appears to be a stopgap until their 2nd pressing plant opens, this may create delays for some releases. But it doesn't look like this will impact the soundtrack reissue crowd too much. On the upside, opening a 2nd plant ought to alleviate some of the delays we've experienced with record pressing turnaround.

"United Record Pressing, in Nashville, and the pressing plant listed as the “largest in North America” has made the decision to decline new customers, in efforts to remain loyal to their existing customer base. They credit this stop to the increasing vinyl demand, something we’re obviously quite aware of here at MV.

These restrictions are expected to last through the first quarter of 2015, where at that point their second plant, tripling their capacity is set to open. Color me curious as to where this will end up going and how long the hold is actually on for. I suppose this is much better than taking on too many customers and forcing more label delays."
