Meanwhile this Summertime Killer reissue was very well done. I still don't know what the Beat ball label is, it first looks like a Japanese imprint but seems more of a LITA project? The obi also says Cinebeat and says "also available" are 7 Volte 7 and Blazing Magnum neither of which I think have actually been released.

Anyway, the wax looks great and plays clean, and they kindly included the original cover art on the front of the 4-page glossy insert which has extensive liner notes. The inner sleeves is a collage of old promo posters and photos.

I would definitely pick up a copy from light in the attic...of course it has the absolute killer track from kill bill 2

Agreed, thewaystation! I have a lowly reissue of this and I think it's a stunning record. Right up there with Extrasensorial (The Link) for me. Great stuff, Deaf. What a treat that must've been.

the reissue of Il Sorriso Del Grande Tentatore is great! it comes with unreleased bonus cues and presents some of the previously released ones in full lenght. sound quality is superb, too. nothing wrong with that...but nothing wrong with having the original pressing either, haha!

@texas - That Summertime Killer reissue looks excellent. I have read that Beatball is a South Korean label. Perhaps they own some distribution rights? It looks like they are doing a homage to the Seven Seas label with that specific art design, which is fun to see. I have passed up copies of the OG too many times, but this reissue would be a relatively easy grab.

South Korean reissue label?, I wonder if they will reissue some homegrown gems, there are at least a couple of South Korean OSTS that need to be reissued.

anyway. these look lovely. i cracked the seal of Il Grande Racket which is really great!. what a driving & captivating slice of wax this is. highly recommended!

of course the Umiliani is a highlight for me and i must say the selection is nuts! also the unreleased cues are great and the track order is perfect. one of the best releases of 2017 for sure...

New decks arrived! One of the tonearm bearings seems funny on one... Gonna need to sort that out with the seller. Can definitely notice a sound improvement vs the mk2 due to the better tonearm and wiring.

Fate would have it that I scored a copy of Marcello Giombini's Sabata (United Artists - Japan - 1970) at the same time as the hard-to-find The Ecstasy of Gold Vol. 1 compilation (Semi-Automatic - US - 2013), and both for great prices:



The second cut on the compilation is the opening theme of Sabata, and it's a killer. ;)

@ Deaf: Nice grab on the SABATA. I've got 2 versions of that Japanese lp - the original has Japanese text on the back cover and the later reissue replaces that text with photos. And I've got a U.S. test pressing of the score from the early 70s... which means United Artists considered a release of the score for the states but dropped the idea. The Quartet Records SABATA CD box has complete versions of all 3 scores.

I don't think I can overstate how much I enjoyed all five of the Ecstasy of Gold comps. Tremendous stuff. Semi-Automatic Record have been quiet for a couple of years now. I wonder if they have anything else up their sleeve or if we've seen the last of them.

@blue15 - Indeed, I picked up NSR-455, which has the photos and English titles on the back. Any idea if it originally came with an obi strip and insert? I have seen the first pressing with an obi (SR-455), but the asking price was really high. I will have to check out that box set, as I was looking at the CD for Adios Sabata after really enjoying the 45 single with the Indio Black theme.

@Mateo - I really need to track down all five volumes now. I really enjoyed the curation on the first one. It even had a Bixio-Frizzi-Tempera song from Carambola, which I do not believe has ever been released on vinyl. Great stuff.

haha! sounds a little racist to me...

but to answer your question. i took coloureds as i usually do with Cinedelic. there is a simple reason for it. once i should decide to sell them, the coloured ones are the only ones that actually sell as used records. even if i consider black the better ones.

How did the cog-minded people CSD go? I picked 4 releases up online. If they were released on any other day I would have bought them as well. I say: fuck CSD. Anyways :-)
