Will be buying, but I wonder, why they decided to make double 10 inch.

"Double 10" album in gatefold jacket includes 3 songs that were not released on other formats of the soundtrack. One album features songs from the film, including Billie Holiday, Les Paul and other artists from the 1950's. The Billie Holiday track is prominent in the film as Carol receives the record as a gift and plays it multiple times. The second album is Carter Burwell's Oscar nominated score. The 10" size and the labels have been designed to be reflective of the period."
Thanks Zuko for clarifying. I was too hasty and didn't read the description properly. So this is going to be my first 10 inch record.

Manhattan Baby! Wow, huge news, finally an expanded LP on black or colored wax from Subsound Records - Italy

Interesting that only the colored vinyl is getting distro'd. If you want black vinyl, you have to order it from Subsound's bigcartel site.

damnit, i didn't read the info enough.
i ordered the color vinyl directly through the label just cause i thought it was exclusive but now i see the opposite.
it does say the color was an edition of 200 so it seems odd.

where do you read more info about this release? I only see the Italian text and no mention of an edition size

@monster - Yeah, sorry if my post was confusing. It's rare to see a more limited(?) colored variant get distributed, unless the black vinyl is even more limited? Either way, it's odd. I wonder if the pressing is not large enough to retail any wider than our friendly distros.

@Spun - I am not familiar with the label, but most of their catalog looks like stoner rock. Their latest tagline seems to be "Subsound Records is an independent label based in Rome, Italy, focused on releasing quality music on cd and vinyl." Manhattan Baby is the first title in their new "original soundtracks" sub-label.

^ So strange. Based on that info, you would think they would distro both versions of the vinyl, and not just the limited color variant. Maybe they will after the color vinyl sells out?

Both the coloured and black version are available at Norman. Also, Transmission tweeted the coloured version is ltd to 500, but I guess we assume there must be 200 if thats what the label is saying.

Hey fellas. It's been a while. Did you miss me?

According to subsound Manhattan Baby is a pressing of 1000.
- 700 black
- 300 colour (100 on their bandcamp page and 200 to distros)

When I saw your post about MB, Deaf, I think I exaggerated a bit, I went and bought four copies... I mean, I have to get extra copies to push them on to my friends and share the good stuff right ?

Also, shipping is very expensive but divided on multiple copies it ends up being fair.

@Nathan - Excellent. I ordered a few extra copies myself for just that purpose.

Manhattan Baby should be spread far and wide. I believe it is some of Frizzi's best work. Although Baby Sequenza 1 probably gets the most attention as a main theme with a great beat, and it features that excellent mellotron chorus, I personally love Sequenza 4. It very well may be my all time favorite piece of music created by Fabio Frizzi. A bit surprised myself that it wins out for me over some of the tracks in both The Beyond and Zombi 2, but damn, it's just fucking beautiful. It felt a bit cruel that is was left off of the Fulci compilation, as well as missing from the Frizzi 2 Fulci arrangements. If you listen to coffycup75's vinyl rips on YouTube, she has them labeled incorrectly. The first video is actually Sequenza1/Sequenza4:

Her second video is Sequenza2/3, all from the original Beat LP.

I've been crunching my numbers and I think I'm going to order this. You guys have it right you might as well order at least two if you're going to pay the shipping cost for one lp. If anyone finds out about any U.S. distributors please let me know.

@bpwlogan - Dusty Groove is going to stock it, but they don't allow preorders. You could add it to your watch list there though.

@deaf-thanks. I went on their site and checked it out. I might just wait for them to stock some and get one from them. It would save a bundle in shipping. That black vinyl is tempting though. I wish I knew what the actual color of the colored varient was going to be. I'm dropping on this regardless though.

I'll be getting this for obvious reasons. Anybody else in the Upper Lefthand Corner interested in sharing on shipping? I'm in WA, but I'm a neighborly fellow if you live nearby. Deaf, you want in?

edit:
@Mateo - If you want a copy of the black vinyl, I have you covered. I am hoping to see more of those show up in US distros as well, especially after hearing they pressed 700 copies.

Yeah, I missed a few posts last night after work when I didn't scroll up far enough using that "newest post" feature. I may just wait for them to show up at the usual online haunts. Deaf, I'll PM you. Cheers!
