Loved the first half until the human race sucks monologue and did not care for the tremendous amount of clichés. But nevertheless I did have a good time.

Made me want to start watching all the original Godzilla movies... but might wait till later this year. And I one point I thought I wanted to revisit The Abyss.
Also wondered about the old disaster movies like Earthquake and the Towering Inferno and that one on a cruise ship that is not Titanic. As a kid I remember loving those. The Big Bus I remember was a lot of fun. I am curious how those flicks hold up now.

Kong: Skull Island I really liked. Simply more fun than King of Monsters. Next week I'll watch Godzilla vs Kong.

I see Irwin Allen was called the Master of Disaster. I forgot all about this. I'll see if I can find some HD copies.

Made For Love
I honestly have been scrolling past this on HBO Max for the last week until Friday I had a friend tell me it's really good, followed by another friend on Saturday who told me that he binged the entire show in one sitting. Well that piqued my interest so I decided to check it out. It's a pretty interesting sci-fi "future tech" what if plot (one that will absolutely happen at some point to some poor person), feels kind of like an easier to digest and less anxiety ridden episode of Black Mirror. Spread across six 30 minute episodes, it has a brisk pace and when the final credits rolled I was actually disappointed that the season was over. It doesn't take itself too serious, has lots of fun and playful moments with a very enjoyable cast. Check out the first episode or two to see if it's in your wheelhouse, it won't be for everyone but I found it pretty entertaining.

And I found Jeff Bridges way more attractive than Glen Close.

Hated it till the first fight with Godzilla vs Kong. As some of you have already said: the human bits sucked but the Godzilla/Kong stuff kicked ass.
Out of the four movies I think I liked Kong: Skull Island the most.

I could literally recommend about forty others that are in this tier for me, let me know if you're interested (this is my specialist subject btw....)

For now, I'll just recommend this monsterpiece if you haven't seen it - an all time fave of mine:

Thanks @ScoJo. I know I taped Demon Seed on VHS 30 years ago but can't remember if I ever watched it. A digital copy is underway as I type this. I'll watch that one probably next week.

I am all over the board at the moment regarding movies. I enjoyed the new Godzilla/Kong movies. The Tony Scott movies are a blast. This weekend I am going to try to watch all the Beverly Hills Cops. I have some new horror movies I want to check out but I am afraid they disappoint.
And I am in the need for something really scary. Something with great suspense or well done jump scares. Eery sounds and believable effects. Any tips there?

Have you seen Session 9?

Autopsy of Jane Doe is great though perhaps you've seen it. I thought The Lodge hit all those notes. Possum is pretty damn creepy. 1408 is a cracking yarn. Fire in the Sky is nightmarish and crazy!

Session 9 has some fantastic atmosphere and does a great job of building tension. I haven't seen Fire in the Sky since it came out, I actually don't remember a thing about it.
