Here are my last couple of weeks of acquisitions.

I felt like I was so behind on getting records cleaned and listening to them that I stopped ordering stuff for a few weeks. The De Wolfe below have been sitting here for at least two weeks - I’ve just been too busy at work to take them for a cleaning.

I finally started buying some stuff again, starting with the Conroy stuff, which I am totally in love with. I wish it weren’t so expensive, but I guess that’s how it goes.

I have several more decent hauls coming in the next week. Mail is moving super quick. I have a package of De Wolfe coming tomorrow from France that I ordered a week ago or less. Weird.

I also got this great Sonoton disc by accident (it’s in a generic sleeve because it was mistakenly sent to me in a De Wolfe jacket).

The De Wolfe I ordered was a cheap $10 thing so I can’t complain too much about getting this accidentally.

I assume you mean this one, which is BMLP 089. It’s a little dirty so I haven’t listened to this one yet, but I have listened to the other one and it is glorious and has cemented my need for more Conroy in my life.

Finally going to hit the record store to get everything cleaned after the mail arrives today - got some great stuff coming from France and I might as well take it all in at once.

Got super lucky on Little Bossa - a seller in the US has had this for sale on eBay forever and they wanted a bit more for it than I was willing to pay. He randomly sent me a 40% off offer (after it sat on eBay for months), so I jumped on it!

The other Conroy I got is just as great.

Finally off to get some records cleaned, now that these have arrived:

Wow, Electroshake is a cool one.

Got these four in the last week. Great Day is one I’ve been after for a while. Finally found one that didn’t break the bank.

Man, that New Life record is amazing! I need that.

This is my third Sportsband Conroy - gotta sell a few records to be able to afford any of the others.

@dollar - coincidentally, Dusty Groove shipped a copy of City to me yesterday so I’ll be hearing it soon!

Finally got a big haul I had ordered from Sweden.

That Chappell Dance and Mood is one of the only ones I don’t have (besides that vibes one) and there didn’t seem to be any samples online, so I’m hoping for the best. It was pretty cheap (which might not be a good sign) but we’ll see.

Yeah, that's a grail - but quite possibly one I will never own, which is ok (can't have everything). The seller has lots of rare library/Italian scores but puts them up in small batches for prices that are really steep. He used to sell under another name before, prices where more reasonable then. Think I got 2 records from him and was able to negotiate a rather good deal on each of them.

They also put out Blue Sharks it became crystal, a record I've never seen. Their Funny Walk record is very good.

crazy! i spinned that Telefilm a few weeks ago. never ever thought this will be reissued, no way.... i have the feeling that this was used as a score for a giallo movie and the opening is most likely sung by Edda Dell'Orso (see/hear below). the Blue Sharks is another essential Leonardi record in my opinion. let's hope they do a great audio job this time!

All of this Polish stuff has been great - really loving everything that label has been putting out.

Just got a couple of gems this week for very reasonable prices. I scored a particularly great deal on the KPM.

Apart from reissues, library is very much becoming a “only buy 2 or 3 a month” thing for me, because I feel like most of what I’m interested in is super expensive now.

I’m totally unfamiliar with that label doing the Musiche per un Telefilm reissue. Sure hope I can find a US distributor for that.

also, does anyone else here have Heavy Truckin’ on De Wolfe?

The samples on YouTube are definitely in stereo. But my copy is almost definitely mono. At least, on tracks like Hogan’s Thing, guitar should be on the left and the cabasa should be on the right? It all seems mono on my copy though.

Update: so most of the YouTube samples on the discogs page *are* mono, except for Hogan’s Thing.

But then there’s a full-length video of it on YouTube that doesn’t work on discogs and it’s very stereo, on every song.

anyone have one they can check?

*update 2*
Found a seller who has one he said is clearly marked stereo (mine has no such markings) so I guess there must be an (unmarked) mono and a stereo pressing of this.

Weird. By 1973, I would not have thought they’d bother with mono pressings at all.
Plus, I don’t think I’ve seen any De Wolfe that late that have dedicated mono and stereo releases. Hmmm.
