It's a must-buy. One of the best of the last few years. I heard it before I saw the film and liked it, but after seeing the film, they lifted each other up to a different level.
Hear hear.

This has been on my to buy list even before I had seen the movie. Thanks for reminding me to see if I can get a copy together with some other wants of mine.
As my granny always said: "Son, always try to buy as many records together as you can so you can save on shipping costs!"

Not yet playing but will be in a couple of weeks: a new 2-CD release of Tangerine Dream's "Miracle Mile" soundtrack. The first CD has the cues from the film, and the second CD is a remastered version of the soundtrack album (which supposedly differs from what was in the film).

Thanks for the heads up on this, Reddye. Much appreciated. I don't own anything from the Dragon's Domain label so hopefully they do good work. Haslinger's involvement seems like a good omen though.

I have their release of Tangerine Dream's "Shy People," and it's a nice CD.

I had a stocktake at work the other night, and at stocktakes we have a rule:' the manager picks the music, everyone else shuts their cake hole'

Me being the manager, I treated my employees and workmates to The Best of the 80s, The best of Prince and The Best of Limp Bizkit.

Yep, they left confused.

Playing hockey on a sunny Summer day so my first score had to this. One of Faltermeyer's 80s masterstrokes and perhaps my favorite of the bunch. Not listening to the widely available soundtrack here. No, sir. These tracks are the actual score...um...alternatucely sourced. Maybe we'll get an official release someday, but until then...

@Deaf - You guessed right, mang.

A personal favorite Horner score. Love how grimy it feels even though it has a liberal sprinkling of steel drums throughout. If the main title theme doesn't move the needle for you, kick rocks.

Just lit the coals for some burgers. Shifting into full exotica mode. I think I'm preaching to the converted, but this is a near-perfect record. Don't sleep on the Votary repress; it is beautiful.

Holy fucking shit. This is absolutely taking my head off right now.

How have I never heard of this? A friend just dropped the link on me and within 30 seconds I'm adding to my must-have list.

It's like the French Axelrod, with a heavy dose of late 20th century avant-classical. To think this was created as a wedding gift for the composer's friends! Mind boggling... from the YT comments, it seems that Dan the Automator sampled it for 3030, and by coincidence someone also suggesting a part of it was used in the score for 300! Need to check both of those out.

Real talk!
Will get this Mateo! Great digital spins (?). What word would one use to describe the playing of digital music that has a more poetic ring to it.

@SocJo: nice wedding gift tunes!

I'm enjoying this quite a bit.

PS - The first Deltron 3030 album is required listening. For everyone.

This is a head's up for an upcoming 2-CD release that is probably of interest to folks here. Front & Follow is releasing "Lessons," a compilation of exclusive music from its label artists, which include Pye Corner Audio, Howlround, and Leyland Kirby. Two CDs, limited to 500 for the first edition. You can hear samples and pre-order HERE.

Also, you can download a free synthwave compilation from Rue Morgue. It's available until Oct. 31. Lots of the usual players: Slasher Dave, Umberto, All of Them Witches, Burning Tapes, Repeated Viewing, Makeup and Vanity Set, etc. Very enjoyable!
