Indeed @ScoJo. I took a punt on Amore a while back from Juno.

Nowt wrong with 90s Carpenter - at least not the scores. I wish that damn surfboard wasn't on the cover though to remind me of the CGI/logic failure that was that scene...

@chief -

You won't believe it, but there are a few videos of that scene on YT where the uploader has titled them (un-ironically) THE GREATEST SCENE EVER!!!

True.

On the plus side, the sleeve front does also have Snake at his 'GQ Model' -est.

In some ways @ScoJo, maybe it is!! ;-)

First listen for this, months after picking it up just after RSD. Held off listening to the digital until I'd spun the wax.

What're your impressions, Chief?

@mateo, first impressions are that I like it. There's a lot of it, across the 2 LPs. There's a lot of variation, and I prefer the more sparse, 'spacey' material, but the faster (in relative terms) stuff is good too. The vocal tracks - there are a few - kind of interrupt the vibe. Only first impressions, so I'll be spending some more time with it. It would be very interesting to see it in sync with the film.

I've checked out some of Metavari's other stuff on bandcamp too (can't remember if you can stream Metropolis). I picked up Tetra A.D., and like what I hear.

Probably my last spin of the day.

As I look at the packaging, I find it strange that the retail version of this (a single LP) got a gatefold, and some doubles, like Black Belly, got a single sleeve. A bit like OWS with Metropolis - a beautiful package, but why not gatefold? I'm very much a 'it's the music that counts' kinda guy, but I hate putting multiple records in a single sleeve.

The Fury - John Williams
Arista ‎– AB 4175
1978
This is one of John Williams hidden gems. If you are not familiar with this score you're missing something great. It can still be found fairly cheap and is worth every penny. An intense and powerful score.

Don't know what to say about the spins on the last couple of pages... Fucking brilliant!
(there is something I shouldn't say, but I am among friends, aren't I? So here goes: I do not own a copy of EFNY (yet!)

Good to know, Chief. I may check out some of their other stuff. Thanks for sharing.

@Static: Happy to hear. And yes, unfortunately it warrants a dance nowerdays when (multi-)colored wax sounds real good. But hey, it's healthy to keep on moving...
