Mondo is doing a 2lp release of Jaws. Looks like it the first CD of Intrada's 2CD set but without the "Extras". I'll for sure be getting this one. Not sure when it will go on sale but says it shipping late October.

Edit: It's on sale now at Mondo.

La-la-Land's Star Trek 2LP Limited Edition is going to be back in stock at the end of the month and we can pre-order again on their site :

STAR TREK THE MOTION PICTURE VINYL 2XLP

I preordered because I haven't seen this reach mainstream distribution stores before it sold out last time, and I don't want to miss it again. The first time, I thought 'I'll pick it up when it shows on amazon or Juno, since their last release (Invasion of the Body Snatchers) was available there, but it never did show up and then it wasn't available anymore.

so yeah, don't wait too much I guess.

I also waited too long. Mostly because I was dubious about the pressing (and because the art is pretty subpar to my eye). Now my internal struggle begins anew.

@mateo, I can tell you that the first pressing was great. The vinyl was surprisingly quiet. I would hope the second pressing would be just as good. I can understand your feelings on the art, I felt the same. But packaging as a whole is wonderful and the art has really grown on me. Pricey but recommend it for any Goldsmith fan.

I think the artwork is nice, but the main thing here is that it's expanded and it comes in a gatefold with a 16 pages booklet with notes. Also, I don't own the single LP version of Star Trek 1. so for me it wasn't such a struggle.

@Tim : If I understand correctly, this isn't a second pressing, it's leftover copies from the same first pressing of 1500. So, good to know it sounds good

Thanks, Tim. That goes a long way to easing my mind a bit. Others here were also gave the pressing kind marks. The cover design doesn't matter much to me in the grand scheme of things, but it did add just a smidge more hesitation.

That's good info on the pressing, Nathan, and I agree that the booklet is a fine selling point. I do have an OG ST:TMP so that is definitely part of the "struggle".

Besides the weekly roundup email that Boomkat sends on Fridays, it also sends out periodic emails when special items are in stock. They usually send a few of these a week. The Pye Corner Audio EP was the newest one sent.

To sign up for the specials, log into your account and then hit the "Newsletter" link, which is in the top nav on the page (to the left of the "Account" button). From there, you can check off getting the "Special Items" emails.

FYI, Boomkat also posted today a Gruppo Di Improvvisazione Nuova Consonanza 5 LP/1 DVD collection.

I splurged on the deluxe edition of this gruppo release. 5LP, 4CD, DVD, poster and book housed in a beautiful wooden box with felt and rubber art piece on the top. It was very pricey but super lovely. I think soundohm may still have one or two copies left in stock. It was an edition of 100. The music is bananas, almost non-musical, way out there stuff. I think the reaction of most would be "what the fuck is this noise, a record of someone banging pots and pans?!"

Now, I want this. Real, real bad. But I want to not own "camo" vinyl almost as much. What do you all think the chances are that Real Gone releases this on black wax?

Loved my CD version, still have a digital rip - so also very tempted to go for the vinyl release.

Would also prefer black wax (very dynamic score with quiet parts and then again loads going on) but guess it's not too likely we will get this (?). Their recent release of 'Escape from LA' is available only in colored/splatter vinyl if I'm not mistaken.

I doubt we'll get a black release sadly. If EFLA is any indication though they take quality control seriously. That pressing is very quiet. I preordered it. Fingers crossed!
