Nice Fevre album, million.

Currently enjoying these tunes by Ruscigan... very interesting and lovely tracks, mostly featuring flute, guitar, pianoforte, and spinetta/harpsichord. A couple with a little bit of a spaghetti western flair such as "movimento sindacale". "Riformatorio" version 2 with the acoustic guitar backing over organ and flute lead is really compelling..

yesterday night i got into a little brawl with some De Wolfe 10" albums. Eye For An Eye and Tooth For A Tooth.

never noticed the funny connection between these two and actually there is none despite the music which is top notch on both. i might prefer Tooth For A Tooth over Eye For An Eye though. just found a little review over at Toys And Techniques blog which is actually on point:

The leaves are turning and we've been seeing roadside signs for haunted hayrides and corn mazes. It might just be time for some spooky music. This record is a bit of a dark horse as I had never heard of it until recently. But it's a gorgeous little album of how should I say... noir exotica? There are hypnotic organs and flutes, chiming mallet instruments and a particular electric bass guitar sound that I like to call "punchy." This music is way, way ahead of its time, as if it were meant to have been buried and re-discovered somewhere in Bristol or Birmingham in the mid-1990s.

also i have found out that Eye For An Eye holds a secret track on A side which i have never noticed before.

oh, and the cover designs are quite nice, too...

i like the Spinechiller record. definitely a black circle spin and relevant to this forum. by the way. there is a nice discogs list with all the DOTD cues spread over 20 something records. collect them all!!! i stopped after 5, haha!

don't have any 78's and to be honest, i will not start messing with them.got offered 500 78's for 400 euros recently but i passed on them. i'm happy to spin records at 33 rmp. right now i'm too busy for 78 if you understand what i mean...

for me one of the best Sonimage releases. Jean-Bernard Raiteux (or Jean-Michel Lorgere??) has contributed fantastic library music to some french labels. after hearing the recent Les Demons soundtrack i knew where some of the cues came from.
Les Demons and Trafic (not Traffic!) Pop are a must. need to read the liners of Les Demons now...

some more french niceness from Vladimir Cosma is one of the first (the thrid actually, haha!) numbers from the great Patchwork label. the whole thing is breathtaking and can luckily be enjoyed by everybody on youtube in it's full lenght. jazzy ,proggy and even funky drama suspension at it's best...

finally back from vacation revisiting the strange and beautiful world of outsider music that almost nobody loves, haha!

been filing some records and noticed something i have not realized before.

only the last four releases of the infamous L'Illustration Musicale label have that circulating IM logo. i always thought this was used randomly and never paid attention to the catalogue numbers.

damn, these IM releases are so bizzare. it must be fun to have all 26 releases on the shelf.

cheers @Mateo: glad to be home again. apparently i'm away soon again... going to visit Hong Kong once more, hoping to score some good records and have good meals in my spare time.

i was listening to some asian style libraries over the weekend. to the two Barigozzi ones in particular. like the one on Folkmusic more. it has some nice jazzy influences and funnily the Hong Kong tune turns out to be my favourite. Oriente is nice too, but it's a bit dull and monotone compared to other one.

synth heaven & masterpiece alert! totally forgot about this one. without a doubt the best Claude Larson performance in my collection. really can't say i know most of his work but i am sure this is one of the pearls in his discography. composed by none other than the great Gerhard Narholz, the Sonoton founder.

i played it at least 5 times in a row. get a copy, you won't regret...

@million - Glad to see you back from Out-World, and contributing to one of the best threads on this forum. Although I do not comment on each and every post here, I usually check out the audio clips and add many of these albums to my want list. I would suspect many other lurkers are doing the same. Plantlife currently has my head nodding in appreciation.
