Also, it is limited to 500. I wouldn't wait too long to get it, Its a clear blood red vinyl with black smoke effect. They didnt mention plans to repress on other vinyl colors, they did not say it was a one off pressing either.

If you look close you can see a previous owner taped a piece of cardboard over Grace Jones (on the front and the back!). I wonder if the motivation was racism or if it was more puritanical...

Can't go wrong with any of the Shirley bassey songs! The Barry score has a nice mix of dreamy outer space themes with a little Brazilian exoticism.

I don't have a copy of Live and Let Die, I think Roger just did the seven Bond films though right?

Correct.

And oh boy I'm not sure if "all time high" or "for your eyes only" is the worse main song. Tough call. Which is a shame because "nobody does it better", "man with the golden gun" "moonraker" "view to a kill" and "live and let die" are among the best of the series.

RIP Sir Roger. I just recently watched all the bonds so they are fresh in my mind. There's plenty of odd choices during his era, but so much to love too.

Without wanting to fork out in the region of $500+ to find out, this (almost certainly not legit) re-ish by the shady Chat Noir was a must buy. Music is killer - ranging from mellow, harpsichord led orchestral stuff that recalls early Kilar and bits of Donnagio to straight up jazz/funk breakbeat bangers laced with strident flute and warbling elecronic flourishes. No shit - this is the real deal. Must look into Yokoyama - this is the most exciting anime ost discovery I've had since Belladonna of Sadness.

And it looks and sounds pretty fab, I have to say. Sleeve appears to be exact repro, complete with Columbia logos but no OBI. Labels are crisp and clean, and the wax is whisper quiet with super stereo dynamism. Come with a superb 12" 4page booklet, filled with text and awesome colour images - very slightly fuzzier than the rest of the sleeve art.

There's currently an OG on the Cogs for $800! I got my copy from HHV.de direct but they're also selling through Discogs.

Who knows what the provenance of this is - all I can say, is YES.

Extraordinary score from '69 by Il Maestro, in every way an essential addition to the collection of anyone even remotely into his 'mondo' period. Very classy re-issue by Carosello Records on gold vinyl - sounds superb. My absolutely highest recommendation on this one guys.

I'm on my third spin in a row - it really is that good. You know how with some Italian OSTs you get a lot of versions of the same main theme? Well sometimes that theme is so goddam beautiful you wish there were a dozen more versions of it!

Another classic re-issue just landed - I waited a while to jump on this, as the price was just way prohibitive on it's release.
A single 45rpm disc for £40+, I couldn't go for that despite my love for the music. It is a tasty package all the same, with full size quad poster (on authentic 1960s repro paper), a CD in facsimile gatefold sleeve with additional tracks, and download code with even more music! Plus a certificate signed by Herrmann's widow....they definitely showed this one the love.

However I finally managed to score a sealed black version with clear/blood splatter vinyl for £20 and couldn't be happier - I know there was a little dissent around this release here on the forum, but my copy sounds pretty good and the sleeve/extras are all top notch. Will be spinning this a fair bit, rather than my OG (that has only a handful of cues) which will now be 'kept for best'.

Almost fell off my chair at the thought that Morricone was an original for a moment there @ScoJo....

But yes the gold vinyl re-issue is very nice too and one I had been waiting on for quite a while. I'd say it is probably my favourite Morricone.

Never seen the movie, but the lush, hedonistic, romantic impression the score throws up is quite something... strip the vocals off and could have almost been a 60s Bond theme. I also hear some sounds that must have inspired the likes of Goldfrapp circa Felt Mountain / Black Cherry LPs

"Bootiful" as Bernard Matthews used to say about his turkeys.

@ScoJo - Several righteous delights right there. I have been relentlessly chasing a Tomb of Dracula OG without success. I might need to cave on the bootleg. I also recommend Yokoyama-san's Future War 198X. Let me know if you want some rips to listen to.

ps @Spun - I was about to say the same for the Dracula LP, even with a "almost fell out of my chair" comment, haha.

@deaf -

I've seen you pst about Future War previously (that sleeve art!!!), if the music is anywhere near as killer as ToD then I'm in! A rip would be very much appreciated thank you man :)

@deaf and @ScoJo,

Hopefully you chaps will enjoy my deep cut, currently under construction. maybe a "Dracula Sovereign of the Damned" rip will be there, amongst other things.

Will definitely be posted up for the weekend, work and life have been hectic.

@deaf I always have my ear close to the ground for another copy but that record is damn elusive.

Tomb is so legit! I did not know there was a reissue, boot or no. I am always one step behind on learning about these Japanese reishs; where do you cats read the news these days? PM me if you don't want to spill your secrets to the entirety of the World Wide Web.

Also, big time 2nd on Future War. Another stone classic that has eluded me over the years. i just watched the film a few weeks ago for the fist time and I was reminded of The Dopeness.

Know we all agree colourways are largely stuff & nonsense, but this beauty is aesthetically a fitting match for the music thereon and the Neon Demon movie visuals..

The Wicked Die Young on Milan. Stones-y guitar rock meets 70s disco tracks meets up-to-the-minute synth stuff - believed to be the temp tracks used by NWF when editing The Neon Demon I believe...
