I've been really spacing out to these LPs this morning - which go together really well as they're both experimental electronic albums from around the same time, late 70's.
I've been curious about the Ratledge for years, sure I've seen it pop up around here occasionally. It's superb, lovely warm arpeggiated electronics, very meditative and features a woman's voice intoning hypnotic prose from the film.
The second is more unearthed music from Habibi Funk by Algerian composer Ahmed Malek - 'The Electronic Tapes' is sourced from experimental demos found by the composer's family/this German label, who commissioned Berlin composer FLAKO to complete work on them. Whatever the process, the result is absolutely fascinating. And pretty hard to describe. I give it a massive two thumbs up though (still available from their bandcamp...) I've also ordered their Modern Music release, which sounds great!
